Yeah so that's the problem I have now. Figuring out when to stop twisting the individual ribbons was easy: I could see and feel the helical shape tighten up and fold back on itself.
I'm not sure when I should stop counter twisting it though. This might look a tad better.
Also this thing is FAT.
I just finished up 2 kayfuns, so I'm gonna try to fit that in. Gonna try to get it to around 1.2 ohms so that I can use it on both my provari and nemmy. I'm wrapping on a 1/16, what's a typical number of wraps to get that? Any clue?

That would be a fair amount of wraps 8 or 9 you'll have fun time fitting it in the atty, and you may end up with a slower heat up time. MM loves sub ohms, personally I run 3 wraps around a 3mm wick and get 0.575 ohm.

At 1/16 I got 9 wraps. 1.3~ohm. Coil was massive. Almost took up the full side in a patriot. I would not wrap that high, heat up time is ridiculous.

There is a point in reverse twisting where everything will line up real pretty like in a row.
Going past that point a little won't hurt anything, but too much will open the folds up too much. Not enough and the folds won't open up and it won't interlock.
I am a bottom feeder kind of guy so I can't help with the kayfun, but I get .1 ohm per wrap on 1.4mm ID and .1 ohm per leg. IIRC right at 5.5 ohm per foot of wire. Use a meter and see how long a piece is 1.2 ohms and cut a hair longer and see how many wraps you get. Your going to have a massive coil and need to throw some voltage at it.
Forgot to add IIRC gdeal has done Kayfun or Taifun or whatever the name is with MM.
Ah thanks! I'm gonna hafta to remake a strand that's just double twisted; the triple turned out too fat for me to capture it under the screws and had too low a resistance for my regulated mod. Thanks for all the help so far!

I received ahlusion's vanilla Wild woods today. Found it a tad lacking in flavor
But now. This thing is phenomenal.........
Only issues I've had:
1) it goes through juice ridiculously fast
2) in the first stage when I twist the single ribbon, sometimes I get a perfect 2 ft strand nicely folded on itself. Other times I get kinks smack in the middle. Ended up wasting quite a bit of wire
But that aside. I'm very very pleased!

No that was just inotfat's modification so that he could fit the wire into the posts. It sounds like his method has worked out alright, but I think someone did a side by side comparison earlier in this thread and determined the 3 strand to have the best flavor and vapor qualities.
What it is, is a flat .6 x .07mm ribbon that you twist. You make three strands of this twisted ribbon then you counter twist all three strands together. Check out the video's at the beginning of the thread and you will get a better idea, its kinda hard to describe.

That's pretty good for a first try on that wire, inotfat! I have a roll of that sized wire and couldn't get the tension right for it to fold properly without snapping. I ended up trashing probably 20 feet of wire before I gave up and went back to the Mundy approved 0.07 stuff. It was strange that such a small difference made such a big difference. But you seemed to beat it into submission pretty well. Too bad you can't vape the three strand. Anyway, I'm impressed. I may take another shot with that wire.
I found using a jewelers loupe to check the twists really helped me get it right.
Where do we get the wire?? My curiosity is peaked
