I've been running a DUD issue free for I guess a couple months now, maybe longer. I switched to my new one which has a slightly larger air hole and it ran well for a few days then all of a sudden I started getting OP errors on my Provari. When it was firing the ohms were crazy high and changing very quickly. I'm beginning to think its simply the positive post moving and not making a solid connection.

Right this second all seems well but I'm sure its just a matter of time until it happens again. Anyone experienced this? Got a fix in mind?

I was thinking of just wrapping some tape on the post to make it larger in diameter and hopefully it will stay put.

that center post isn't perfectly straight and true and I have seen that it can touch the inside surface of the middle tube and cause strange happenings....

I cut a piece of ptfe tubing to make a "sleeve" for it and then reassembled but you could even just wrap a piece of electrical tape around it.....all yer trying to do is isolate that center post from the tube.

Good luck, hope that helps.

It is the positive post. It's losing contact with the positive contact of your PV. The DiDalikes have no spring tension to hold the positive contact on the bottom of the unit in contact with the positive contact on your PV, other than the neoprene insulators at the top and bottom of the tank. Remove the DiDalike from your PV, back off the bottom nut on the center post, where it sits against the neoprene insulator. Push down on the post, gently, until the center contact at the bottom is protruding very slightly from the end of the 510 threads. When you screw the tank back onto the PV, you should feel a slight resistance, about 1/4 turn before it's tight. This is the center post making contact.

this is the exact problem that i was having, and thanks to posts like the ones above, i have been back up and running with no problem. i used electrical tap eto insulate my pos post. just 1 revoultion is enough to do it. the electrical tape also helped to keep that bottom grommet in place, creating a much more sung pos pole.

i recently had to disassemble my tank to put on my new pyrex tube. getting the bottom grommet back into place is a bit tough, but you can poke it in with your allen key.
