I'm so grateful for this topic!

I've decided to try some simple DIY just because VG juice vendors are few and far between, some of them add too much flavorings which means they aren't high VG in the end, and it's just limiting trying to buy ready mixed that I feel is high enough VG.

How did I know I needed VG? As a newbie, I had 2 bottles of juice.....same vendor. The one with PG tasted like a chemical factory, so it was clear to me my taste buds were not going to like PG. As I continued, I kept picking up that flavor in store-bought juices w/PG, then I knew it wasn't my imagination. :)

I may be unusual in that I NEVER smoked store bought cigarettes.....I only used American Spirit roll your own organic tobacco, so I probably never got quite the "chemical load" that a Marlboro would impart..........as a matter of fact, I tried a Marlboro once and it tasted, again, like a chemical waste dump, so I gueess my taste buds really don't like too many chemicals.

I vape 100% VG and it tastes great to me, except for a few vendors who either over-flavor (thinking VG needs a boost) or their VG is a brand I don't like.

So, I"m going out on my own for a while, that way I can get exactly the tastes I want!

Thanks for this great thread~

Still a newby : ) I started with organic juice form the local B&M to go with my 510 kit. Then as I ventured out I ordered juice from 2 or 3 other places that were 70/30. I could not for the life of me figure out why they tasted so bad. I decided to DIY- 100% VG base and VG to cut to nic level I want. The flavorings I bought are mostly natural. It was the PG that tasted so bad and had a wonky smell
As a newbie I still have a few questions:
1-If you add PGA to your vape will it show up on a breathalizer test? Just curious- been alcohol free all my life, I don't like the taste- I didn't learn to like liver either.
2- Is there a place on the forum for 100%VG recipes?
3- I've made my own coffee extract for 20+ years (keep in fridge -add to hot water or milk) Do I have to use VG to extract? The stuff I make is just water added to ground coffee. It seems like this could be substituted for the distilled water to thin the VG.

Thanks so much for this thread and the wonderful group of people on this forum :vapor:

Hi guys!

I to am moving away from PG, particularly because of the dry-mouth effect. I'm new to DIY .... I have already learned a lot (I've just spent the last 4 hours reading the Vinegar? threat - WOW!).

I still have 2 questions that remain unanswered. I have read a lot of posts on the topic, but can't get a clear answer and my tests do fail:

1) Any tips to get a big, strong TH on 100% VG mixes? I vape low nic (6%) and even at 10, am not satisfied. I do not want to go higher because I do not need the nic intake. Yes, I know PG helps with TH - not that I have noticed - but 100% VG do make smooth vapor with "no" TH. PGA sounds like it helps too, but tell me guys: what do you use?

2) Any tips to help the flavors to come out? Vinegar brings a nice balance, but using 20% of flavoring like in my previous 50/50 batches does not make it shine as much. I'm a fan of tobacco and cholotate-type flavors, so I need a little help spicing them up. Being a huge Boba's Bounty user, I now feel like jalapeno might be a key... But tell me friends: any tips on flavoring with 100% VG? Ratios other than the standard 20%?

I'm working hard to produce a sweet and spicy chocolate (like BB) with a nice TH and tones of flavor, but even in 100VG, I get thin tasting air.

Thanks for sharing ;)

So I've been reading lots of threads here to learn and start my DIY adventure and I came upon this one. I find myself wanting more and more to switch to all VG so I was looking for VG today and came across this from Essential Depot, 2gal of VG for 45.95 with free shipping http://www.essentialdepot.com/servlet/the-Glycerin-USP-Kosher-Vegetable/Categories
if anyone is interested, kind of sounds like a good deal.

2 gallons of VG might last longer than a lifetime. I bought a liter and I wish I had bought more like a pint. I think that's about as much as I'd use in 6 months or a year, and I don't really want to use product any older than that.

Keep some VG out for immediate use and freeze the rest.
