Already thinking of getting a Protege, but I need advice!

I got my first ever e-cig monday, been vaping since.

I read and read and... read on the subject.




Since I'm that kind of guy that loves metal toys... I need a stainless steel tool. I fell in love with the protege. perfect size and look! So I'm thinking of getting me a xmas gift.

Now can somebody tell me what is the best route to get a protege and not having to tape some holes and having 10 inches of adapters to vape on a V4L cartomizer?

I would really like to have one with the shortest adapter possible.

-So I need a protege from puresmoke, which one do I chose (901,801,510???)
-I think I would need a adapter to a KR808 carto. which one? (I read that vapor county sells one, but they don't ship to Canada!?)


I'm not going to buy one tomorrow but I'm thinking of getting one.

When you order your protege, if you choose the 801 you can get a small ringlike adapter to add to it. They are availible from several dealers that sell the VP1 or vapre51. It's called an 801 to 901 adapter and it has a hole in the side.
Please contact Steve at puresmoker for advice on this. You don't want to order the wrong thing on my advice! On page 3 or 4 of the following link Steve says he is getting cartomizer adapters. Please check on that forum or P.M. , e-mail or whatever before you choose! Good Luck.

you could go MK's way but for the KR808's you would want the 901 protege and as for the VC adaptor look for suppliers that have the 901 manual extension (used so manual batts can be charged ) dremel a tiny hole in it for venting and there you go a 901>KR adaptor at a fraction of the price.

Also check out the VP1 & VP2 from Vaprlife. I went with a VP1 instead of the protege and love it. I havn't tried but I assume with the 901 adapter u can put a cartomizer on it.

You can use cartos with the 801 to 901 adapter..that's what I use on my VP1.

Jeff did put a slit through my 901 Chuck, sadly it wasn't deep enough so I wasn't getting airflow
However I had a 901 battery adapter and put a slit through that, perfecto!

OH that is an interesting way of doing it I was talking more on the lines of drilling a tiny hole through the tube of the extension.... but your way works too, just risking the chance of messing up the connector causing you to get an extra extension Good Job GC

Well see, I WAS going to put a hole through it, I searched high and freaking low for my drillbits. Apparently hubby decided everything on the porch must burn, including the bloody box of drill bits! Grr, remind me not to ask him to clean the porch off again. So the only thing I had INSIDE AND SAFE was a dremmel blade thingy....yeah Desperate times!! I couldn't handle not using my cartos, it works perfect too The extension cost what, $1.50 or something? I brought two in case I screwed one up

hehe,,, my wife always reminds me to clean the porch .... but I think you need to thank him... I like your way and think I will fork out 5 bucks and buy a few to practice this technique .... post this on the kr808 sub-forum if you haven't already..... nice pics and good trick....don't forget to mention me hehe JK

IMO the best option is to get it 510 and use the alt smoke 510 to 808 adapter, it only adds about 1/4" in overall height. this is what i use on my silver bullet with carts, and it couldnt work any better.
