Put together a quickie box mod using an IMR26650, and the protection circuit board from an 18650.
Got the box from MPJA.com.
Self explanatory photos (I think). Still have to come up with a charging connector. I charge it with a 510 charger, rubber band to hold the switch. I might mod one of my universal chargers with a 510 connector. 200ma charger might take a while to charge this thing.

1/2 inch vent will get a rubber plug.

Real nice Rocket, beefy in more ways than one. I'd leave the plug out of it, it's more ominous that way. The rounded edges are definitely good but are the walls angled?

Yes, the box has a slight taper up to the lid.
I have this feeling it's going to be a bear to charge :)
12 hrs on a little USB charger so far and still red.

Thought I saw this posted somewhere.
Figure up the milliamps from the charger, and the capacity of the battery.
If you draw more than the rated output of the charger it will die. Current will slow down as the voltage nears the max output of the charger, unless it is specifically a "rapid charger" or the over voltage circuit get crapped out and will charge until the battery overvoltage circuit takes over. It is probably not a good sign when things get hot enough to burn.

The little 100 to 200mah usb chargers should be good for anything up to 1000mah, over that have a fire extinguisher handy.
Just because someone else did it doesn't mean yours won't catch on fire.

Fire Extinguisher was close by :)
So I made up this adapter so I could use my Trustfire charger.
The 400ma eGo charger I used (which is probably a 200ma charger with a new label) didn't get warm and I have enough that if it was fried I would salvage the cable and connector and toss it. Good thing I put that protection circuit in there just in case. The adapter in the photos will, hopefully work better.

But you are correct, using a little charger for a battery this size is not a good thing to do.

Thanks Storm,
This Alboxmod seems to last longer than a Flashlight with an 18650 hehe.
So long it's sort of boring. Started this one about noon yesterday and want to get it back on charge tonight.

I'll post some voltage measurements after a couple of charge/discharge cycles.

on charge at 11PM

Put this 26650 BoxMod on charge last night and here are unloaded and loaded voltages fresh off the charger.
2 ohm load.
The last photo is also with a 2 ohm load but eliminates voltage drops due to the protection board, negative wire, and connector shell (this is not vaping voltage).

It's somewhat sturdy, as a box mod goes, but what really gets me is the loaded voltage the 26650 puts out. I can vape it all day, a real long day, and the 2 ohm loaded voltage is close to where an 18650 mod starts out. The range of attys/cartos I normally use is from 2.5 to 3.2 ohms. For a no-frills 3.7 volt mod, this is tops in my book. The volume is bigger than a flashlight mod, but only because it's got square corners.
You know it's not the biggest mod out there :)

Tues: I'm 18 hours into it today (3:30AM) and the 2 ohm loaded voltage is 3.68 volts.
Wed: Up at 9 AM and the charger was green already (5.5 hours), 4.22v unloaded :)
Used it mostly Wednesday and didn't charge until 6PM Thursday. 5.5 hours again and green lite at 11:30 Thursday. Going to charge for another hour or two to see if voltage climbs above the 4.22 it's at now then let it sit and start vaping it in the morning. Guess I'll just have to put up with a whimpy 18650 mod for now :)
