Used a Hammond 1590g die cast aluminum box with a plexiglas door, 2x 1100mah 10c li-po batteries for a total of 2200 mah 20c, dna 20, dna usb charger, 300g dome actuators for the on board digital pot and a 12mm metal push button switch.

d9mel, that is a VERY nice looking mod. Well done indeed!

I'm wondering (and maybe Mamu can chime in on this too because the Lexi shares this characteristic), why you put the atty connector in the center of the top panel, instead of off to the side like the MPV.

I understand the desire to look centered and balanced, but I think the off-center mount for the battery connector on box modes just looks more sophisticated, and it seems to me that when you are using a side-mounted firing button, an off-center power connector (on the opposite side as the button) would be more ergonomic too...

Since both you and Mamu did this with recent DNA20 mods, I'm wondering if it is actually a design requirement with the board (I don't think so, because don't you have to solder your own connector wires onto the board, which you could make any length you needed), or if it is just an aesthetic decision.

Don't take this wrong--it's a marvelous-looking mod, and I'd buy one in a heartbeat--but I just guess I prefer the off-center atty look on a box mod, and I'm wondering why more modders don't do it that way...

Stereo, thanks for the compliment!

The only reason I put the 510 connection I the center in personal preference. I found that with compact box mods a connector on one side or the other works fine, but with a larger mod having it centered makes for improved ergonomics, for me. I like the central pivot point.

The DNA 20 allows for any button/connector configuration you'd like, or could think of. If you look at bapgoods design or covert, jmarkus, breaktru and mamus mods their all different and the variations are a product of preference.

Happy modding!

^^ This

Plus with the Lexi-DNA20D the up/dn buttons are on the top cap centered between the connector as well as the atty switch being front and center. Would look rather funky to put the connector to the side with this design layout doncha think?

I took it out last night to a bar and every person that saw it asked questions... alot of questions.

I used the li-po's for the profile, they measure 55mm in height and even though the DNA 20 is small it was tough to get it in and set. I acctually had to change from 24ga to 28ga wire for the switches, stayed with 20ga for 510, battery and charger.

I'm probably going to do some light tint on the plexi, the oled screen is bright enough to shine through

you should use mirror tint that way when the screen is not on you cant see it then it shines through the mirror tent adds a cool effect maybe a colored LED on the inside as well if ya really want it to be flashy

510 connection was wiggling a little, so I put some epoxy on it... a lot of epoxy

cut a sheet of plexi to the height I wanted the epoxy at and filled it to level, dont think it will budge now.

I gave up on trying to put numbers to it, got too busy with school. I do know that I usually get about 7ml's through it before I get to half battery on the display then I charge. The original experience that I had was similar to yours, bat dropping from halfish after a day to dead in an hour or two. I know that the display doesnt draw much current but one of these days I want to test the difference between stealth and regular mode and figure out the total run time. I wasnt sure if I had lame batteries that where causing the inconsistent reading cause I havent heard anyone else mention it, be interesting to see what results you get

There have been post dating way back to the release of the Darwin about the battery meter level dropping off faster below 1/2...kinda just the nature of the relative meter display....not an issue to be concerned about....the Darwin and the DNA20D does this.....kinda like fuel gauges on auto's....my SUV takes forever to go down to 1/2, then drops more rapidly but does not effect the mileage....

I think also as you use the battery and the voltage reduces, it may have to work harder to deliver the boosted voltage, thus reducing the battery voltage quicker....

Hope this helps.....

The added stress on a low battery makes sense. With the awesome performance and simple interface I don't see it as an issue at all, a full charge last me all day and that's all I need. I'm actually gonna try to pick up a couple more boards before spring break to play with got a couple of ideas brewing, a recessed tank box and a fat tube mod, we'll see how far I get

If you want a fat tube mod and something that can incorperate a battery and a board like the DNA, The Custom Saber Shop has some cool ideas. They make a drop in delrin fitting to house a battery and a board at the same time. They are pretty damn fat though. That is only reason why I haven't messed with one yet. I think I am going to make a custom one though soon. I think their tubes are like 1 1/2 inch wide, so much wider than a standard tube mode.
