Well I have to get surgery again to get the screws and plate removed from my leg and ankle but I think I will have to stay there overnight again and I'm wondering are you allowed to vape while in the recovery room? also I have to fast before my surgery meaning no smoking, drinking or eating, am I allowed to vape while fasting?

Hmmmm I would stealth vape but you should be good. As for the fasting, keep the vaping to a minimum so you dont get dehydrated but you should be good. Ive never been told not to smoke before a surgery, they say no eating or drinking because the anesthesia can cause vomiting and if you aspirated it under sedation, you could get pneumonia or die.

it's always better to ask forgiveness ...than permission.:p

to my knowledge there's no "you can't" I'd stealth do it though...

the only company I've heard of is Shell Oil..and probably some of the other chemical plants..have a no smoking and no Electronic Cigarette policy. I'm sure the hospitals will catch up..

but I'm in and out of them all the time and stealth vape. Ed's a lil more out in the open with it that I am..at his friend's bedside but only once was he told rather jokingly by the nurse "you can't do that in here"...so keep it on the down low and it should be fine..if you're in a private room get your doc to write an RX for it..and don't blow it in the nurses faces..(just like old smoking in your hospital room days) then no problems.:vapor:

If you're to have anesthesia I'd try to make sure you're breathing really good before attempting it..pneumonia's already a risk after surgery..don't worsen it..depending on your condition..get a good hour or so of breathing w/o oxygen and coughing on your own and vape on ..no problems. :)

It varies here in the States. Some places it's treated as smoking, so where smoking is banned, so is vaping.

Nicotine is a vaso-restrictor, so in some measure the reasons to avoid cigs before surgery would still apply. Constricted vessels may slow healing.

But with even the foggiest blend, if you just inhale and hold it in for a few seconds, the exhale will be clear :)
