Am I being unreasonable about steeping

I don't get what the big deal is. I like that many vendors provide a variety of nic levels, pg/vg ratios, extra flavoring shots, etc. I like that juice vendors ship my order out within a day or two of when I order it. This would not be possible if I insisted that the juice be pre-steeped.

Many flavors taste just fine right out of the mailbox. Others do need to steep, but you can use a crockpot, ultrasonic cleaner, or manual mixer to speed up the process.

I guess we've come a long way from the days when vapers had to make their own gear, invent new heads and wicks, and put some effort into things. Nowadays we get upset at having to wait a bit for the juice to be at it's best? Color me sad.

Wrong answer.
There are several companies that DO pre-steep and can fill your order in 24-48 hrs.
And I agree Somewhat on the Flavaboosting. That should Not have to be an added variable. A LOT of premium companies manage
to sell GOOD juice just fine without having a boost option/added variable (to worry about having to stock pre-steeped).

NiteLiteVapors actually manages to pre-steep AND have Very Low prices, unfortunately, it seems most of their juices also have
a tobacco aspect to them which I'm not interested in.

Yes, but they offer a limited selection of flavors (I count 24) and no choice of PG/VG ratios.
Also, since nicotine generally doesn't need steeping, they only need to age 24 bottles of liquid; I'd bet they add the nic just before they ship.

Compare that to someplace like MBV, which lets you add up to 6 different flavors in a liquid, several PG/VG ratios, nic levels, and hundreds of flavors.

As for extra flavor shots, flavor is subjective. For example, I've seen a number of folks complain that some liquids are "too sweet" - never had that experience! And ITC (or was it Killer Vape?) changed their recipes about 6 months ago to boost the flavorings - what tasted perfectly fine to the manufacturer tasted too weak to many of his customers, so he upped the flavoring (and, at the same time, added an option for extra flavor shots).

Personally I prefer vendors that give you choices. Not to mention, I know that what they're selling me hasn't been sitting on the shelf for a year and a half because it's not a popular flavor.

You obviously feel differently, and as you said, there are vendors that sell only pre-steeped liquids; if the demand for pre-steeped is significant, I'm sure more vendors will start offering them.

I find it reasonable if the company offers a plethora of different custom order combinations.

It would be very difficult to stock pre-steeped juice in 5 4 different PG/VG ratios along with the different nic strengths in each ratio. Just think about how many bottles they would have around if they tried to stock every flavor, nic, PG/VG combo!

For me on my super tight budget... I will take the savings and plan ahead. Won't lie though, I do sometimes miss the days I could buy and vape at will.

I usually steep for a month and buy ahead. Some venders pre-steep. Good Life Vapor puts their juice in heated blenders to pre-steep. Heat and evaporation of the fumes rapidly speed up the process. If you can leave the bottle open and leave in a warm spot it will age quickly. Just put the cap back on once a day for a good shake and then take the cap back off.

No they can't. Not when they offer multiple vg/pg and nic ratios.

You can't offer prices so low using 100 mg of nic base. You would need different nic base for each level to offer flavor consistency. 4% for say 3mg but 10% for 12mg. That would mess up flavor.
There's a lot more to it than just inventoried juice.

The cheaper companies work harder in my opinion because your juice is made to order.

Mixing in a vat, offering 4 nic levels and one vg/pg ratio is easy money. A great income for the company. Work once a week and rake in the dough!

Unreasonable, I don't know but there are many companies to choose from all with their positives and negatives on reviews all over the internet. You could pick anywhere you want to and get info before you order.

The great thing about vaping, and buying online, is there is something for everybody, at least for now. If you don't want to steep, buy pre-steeped. I hear 28 days vape is pretty good, and it's all steeped for at least 28 days.

I personally like customization, and usually, seeing how a juice transforms over time is fun.

I don't buy a bucket of chicken to stick it in the fridge for 3 days before I eat it thinking it will taste better. I buy food because I am hungry and I buy juice because I need it and want it to vape now. I only order from companies that are pre steeped and ready to go FOOB.

Exactly. In the real world, who's going to hand someone a shiny new device, a shiny new atomizer, shiny batteries and shiny charger, and then tell them, thanks for shopping and, oh, btw, you can't use any of this for three weeks while your eliquid 'steeps.' Have fun quitting smoking.

It takes about a week to get ordered stuff anyway - with heat agitation in a hot mailtruck before it ends up in the mailbox for some more cooking. And then to add 2 or 3 more weeks to that? yeah.no.

Well, you don't HAVE to steep any e-liquid. Some get better over time. Some just need a bit of airing out to get rid of sharp overtones. (And that's a different process than steeping).

Put the bottle in your back pocket, and dance to "Shake Yer Booty" for a couple of minutes, and you'll feel a lot better. The juice might still suck, but that's not my fault!

IMO, you're not being unreasonable at all. I agree, I am not a fan of "the journey". I don't like the idea of having to set an e-liquid aside and forget about it for a few weeks (or even a few months if it's a custard) before it's vapable / ready to be consumed as intended.

I chalk it up to vaping being in its relative infancy. I can't wait for the day when the notion of steeping being a necessary part of vaping becomes a thing of the past. Hopefully that day comes sooner than later.

It's an interesting dilemma, really... On one hand, I don't want to spend $20 for 30ml of e-juice. On the other hand, I don't want to spend weeks / months waiting for my e-juice to "mature" after it arrives, even if the mixed-to-order juice tends to be a fraction of the price.
