Hi guys, long time lurker and new member here.Just quit smoking stinkies for the past 3 months now, and I am enjoying vaping, but once in a while, there's this craving especially when drinking with my friends who smoke- I kinda feel dizzy and lightheaded whenever they smoke near me and there's this craving. I can keep this at bay but I don't know for how long, I am afraid that I will fail since I usually hang out with them. Any tips guys?

increase the mg of nicotine in your juice for those times. If you are using 18mg get some 24mg

+1. I started vaping @ 12mg, wasn't cutting it. 18mg did the trick. I still had the cravings, and sometimes still do. Finding a good tobacco juice helped a lot too.

You may not like this suggestion, but it might be a good idea to not hang out with your analog friends for a while, just until you get the cravings under control.

Hi

What do you mean by the smoke is making you dizzy? Do you mean that dizzy feeling like when you first tried smoking? Lord, if that's true I can't think of anything that would make me not want to have a cigarette more than that. Chances are at this point if you had one that dizzy feeling you are getting from just being around second hand smoke would practically make you sick. You could always try having a cigarette - you may be surprised how gross the experience is for you now. That happens to a lot of us.

If you gotta hang with these guys while they are smoking trying finding the best flavors you can get. A so-so flavor may be ok for everyday vaping. Under these circumstances you want to pull out the stuff you absolutely love to vape.

Start converting your smoking friends to vaping friends.

Do this without being preachy to your friends and you are in! I usually just pick my coolest setups and take it if I know my smoking friends are going to be around, I always get questions and it looks like they are very intrigued! But I am around smokers anyways, I mean there really isn't anything you can do. If you don't want to risk 2nd hand - walk away.

Yeah, but I still crave, I don't know if it's me missing analogs or my friend coaxing me to try again. Either way it ain't helping

I will try that  But first, I will bring my eye-candy PV just to convert them as you guys told me, but if all else fails, I will gradually lessen my time (drinking, since that's the time they smoke non-stop) with them.

I had cravings during my first 6 months, after that they went away. I too had hard cravings during the first 6 months when people would light up around me, all I could do was vape vape vape. I'd get through it and I did. So did you! It'll get easier each time. You can raise your nicotine during those times or you can just vape more. I'd probably go the middle ground and increase my nicotine some and then just vape through the rest. It will pass. In the meantime Happy Vaping :vapor:

Be sure you really have good equipment that really delivers the hit you need/want and think about increasing your nic level. Remember that excessive alcohol often results in poor outcomes. Accept that you will continue to crave an analog from time to time, but its no biggie, as your vape will do the trick. In social situations, realize that vaping is far cooler than analogs.

A lot of what you are describing is both physical and mental. It all depends on your mind state when you quit. I continued smoking one after a meal and a couple with coffee after starting to vape daily and thinking I still needed those few. That went on for a couple of years after I started vaping.

One day, I started vaping with my after meal cigarettes. I'd take a puff from the cig and then a puff from my PV. Comparing the two convinced me quickly that the cigarette tasted nasty and the vape was good. After I did that for a while, I made the mental decision to quit. I did and there were no more cravings. I could sit next to my wife while she smoked and not care for one.

It's a thought process that you have to go though to get to the good place with the decision to quit. As long as you wonder if you need them you will be torn between the two. If you slip and smoke, don't worry about it. Just decide how many you can smoke and begin to cut out one of those every few days until you are down to a few a day. After a while, once you taper down to a few each day you can quit without a problem. Lessening the addiction over time worked for me.

I haven't smoked a single cig in over a year and a half. I was a 2 PAD smoker. The irony in my story is that I could have quit much sooner and didn't know it.

In addition to the suggestions already mentioned, consider getting some new kit or upgrading and find some nice new juices. This really helped me in a similar position to the one you describe. Little things to boost your enthusiasm for vaping make it easier to stay off the cigs.

For me it was actually trying a cig again that stopped the cravings. After about 2 weeks vaping exclusively I was still craving a cig now and then and tried a drag on a cigarette (to check my reaction). I found it fairly unpleasant and had no desire to smoke it. That made me very happy because I knew that, even if health was not a consideration, given the choice between my ecig and an analog I would pick the ecig.

After about 2 months, I had tried the experiment again and found it tasted so disgusting I never ever crave them now. I still have a nostalgic feeling about the smell, but the taste is vile. The risk with trying this is that you might still like them and relapse - don't try it if you're drunk and with a lot of smokers, probably not the right atmosphere, maybe just with one friend and sober. Some prefer not to do the experiment at all, it really depends on you. I don't necessarily recommend you try what I did.

The cravings may never end completely...but they will diminish. I was a very heavy chain smoker for 40+ years. After 17 months, I still have an occasional craving. Not as many as I had in the first few months. Over xmas, I had to drive my smoking son-in-law to the airport (2 hour drive). I have handed down some batts and juice for him to try, but I still let him smoke in the car. Boy did it smell good, but I could resist, and that's the good thing.

Any advice that's been given is Wonderful just stay strong quitting analogs is difficult but if you stick with gaping you will get to a point when analogs are just disgusting I've been off analogs going on a year now and I had to up the Nic strength once and upgraded my hardware twice but now I am to a point that analogs are nasty I recently was in a bar w friends where my evic died and I bummed an analog off a friend i took two puffs and put it out because it tasted so unclean and nasty so you can do it I've been trying to get my mom to make the switch recently and its difficult at first but just stay strong

I still have a craving once in a while, and I've had a smoke since after vaping for months without smoking and it just tastes like .... I might have one once in a while, but most people I know don't smoke, and I have no draw to it anymore. Hang in there, the more you vape, the less you'll want to smoke, and if you do, you'll realize how bad it is. I REALLY enjoy the flavours of vaping.

If one finds themselves having that something missing or cravings for smokes, it's time to upgrade the gear. First place to look is the atomizer. Finding a good rba, rda, or carto tank may be in your future.

When I had the something missing feelings, I searched for and bought a regulated mod, but still had that something missing feeling, so went and found a good rba, the Russian, ahh, much better, learned how to build and increased my watts. Now I never ever have a craving for smokes. My gear hits so well that I have had to reduce my nic mg level to 12 mg, so that I could vape as much as I liked without feeling woozy. The something missing feeling became the something more than smoking could ever offer, and enshrouded me with vape protection.

I now have several excellent rba's, a great regulated mod, several fine mechanical mods, I make my own juice, and have total vape satisfaction.

I smoked over a pack a day for 27 years, and am not going back at all. Don't feel that a cigarette could possibly satisfy my passion to vape, and if I did smoke I would crave to vape, cause smoking can never replace the satisfaction that a good vape provides.
