I prefer the 510 but that's what I grew up with. The 808 is nice as well I talked on of my buddies into buying one, she thinks she may have made a mistake because it's not putting out the vapor that the 510 does. I tried it and agreed but I think that if I had the extra money lying around I might buy one just for the time I spend out and about.

I just sent my GreenSmoke back because of the lack of a throat hit and got a Nebula from vapornine.com. The Nebula is 20x better in my opinion. Personally, it's more important to me to feel like I'm smoking a cigarette than to look like it. Also, if you noticed when you were smoking analog cigarettes, when you exhaled you weren't producing a ton of smoke, so I'm not sure why everyone is so concerned about vapor production. Anyway, just my opinions on them.

I get the feeling the people who desire a lot of vapor production didn't actually fully inhale and had most of their enjoyment from exhaling. Though don't listen to me, I haven't even tried it yet.

I hated the KR8s... it was like having a pretend e-cig. LOL. I just didn't get what everyone thought was so wonderful about it. Wimpy vapor. Flavors sucked. Didn't care for the blanks either. Fiddly refilling methods (though, the condom refill seems to be ok but isn't consistant). The auto bats that came with it were awful and I didn't like the way it tasted on a mod unit. That the poly could burn totally turned me off of them. I traded most of my blanks to a friend and have some stuff that will go on classifieds later. Wadda waste of $.

LOVE my 801 and 510. I'm a big vapor kinda girl.

I went the KD808D-1 route and the 510 is now out of the closet. Get the carts right (with the right mod) and it's still The King. Halo Juice with 510 blows the VK all to heck IMV.

V4L is overrated and the carts are suspect. I received (in my short tenure) some very unpleasant carts, and though the KR still adorns me for trips, or convenience, I grab a mod and 510 for good vaping.

Get a nice mod (Protege or Chameleon) and use the 510 atty or even a good 808 cart. Halo for juice is clean, pure, and the carts or attys will last longer. Skip all the 'great flavors" out there and stick with something basic for starters.

Whatever you do.....I would stay away from investing in all kinds of novelty offers and get with a US supplier for a mod. Highly recommend IkenVape for service. Just dealt with them today and they were awesome. So far.....

"I don't like the flavors from V4L. I know many people think they are fantastic, but there are bunches of us (we generally keep quiet because people seem to attack us a lot) who find they have a nasty perfume-like taste overpowering the advertised flavor".

We generally keep quiet? Not so here my friend. The V4L gatekeepers will attack but they do not deter me at all.

Let em come.....

Thanks all! It SEEMS to be running a BIT better now, but I'm putting the stipulation in my Will that I want to be buried with my new Happy Ego from Jack at Happy Vaper! It's AMAZING! I would HIGHLY recommend it!

I have some flavors coming in, I've ordered some from Wordupecig and AlternaSmokes, but they have yet to arrive. (Kind of surprised, I ordered from WU on March 5th!) |Yeah, I'm stalking the mailman...

I still like the 510 better, the 808 is convenient but lacks vapor(which is great for stealth) but sometime I just want to see vapor. The auto batterys are garbage compared to the 510's but I got he long ones and hope the shortys will be better. What I like most of the 510 is I can lightly puff on it, the 808 you have to suck like your trying to drink a milk shake. They both have their place to me 510 for home and 808 when Im out.

We just got 4 of the xl kr808 starter kits from v4l. The batteries have 4 holes and the carts have 4 slots. It is like sucking air through a straw and almost no vapor. 3 of us have been vaping for 2 days with no improvement. Even the passthroughs are all air and no vapor. Wrapping tape 3/4 of the way around doesn't help much. What is weird is that after taking a pull, sometimes I can hear air coming out of the cart, like a deflating balloon.

I just have to wonder if we got a bad batch of carts or batteries?? When I contacted v4l with this and other questions I was blown off and the airflow issue was ignored. I think I am going to just send them all back and get refunds on all the kits.

We tried greensmoke, but the batteries would die after a couple hours. You got good vapor on a brand new battery and cart, but that only lasted about a half hour.

I am really lost on where to go from here. We are a family of 4 that want to switch the e-cigs, but these experiences are really turning us off. Anyone have suggestsions?

The airflow was my #1 complaint with the KR8 and that company..there is come fiddling that can be done to stiffen that up but it's a hassle..and they're constantly changing stuff around so much you don't know what you're gonna get from one week to the next.
I highly suggest an eGo..you can also get an adapter to use your cartomizers on the ego battery so those don't go to waste...but yeah an eGo kit and a couple of extra batteries, and extra cones (a battery should last a person 7-10 hours easy per charge)..extra 510 atomizers (unless you're going to use the cartos on em)...and finding low resistance 510 atomizers would be even better...funnily enough even a 510 atomizer with an adapter will perform better on your KR8 batteries..

from what i understand reading, to increase vapor production, add a little big of VG and/or water. to increase throat hit, add a little bit of alcohol. could be the juice and not the device.

That's not going to fix the anything about that sucking air through a straw airflow problem...
Simple fact of the matter is that that particular company changed the size of the airholes at the threads to supposedly work better with their premium cartomizers..because the cartomizers have a lower resistance they burn hotter (hence why they produce more vapor than the standard ones) but they enlarged the airholes to help cool the hotter cartomizer better..unfortunately this made an all too airy draw even worse...
Further on a standard battery 3.7V, the lower the resistance of the atomizer the more heat and better vapor and TH (some flavors (like tobaccos or coffees) do better at more heat, some (fruits) better at lower heat)... so standard cartomizer is 3.0ohm, premium cartomizers 2.5ohm, 510 atomizer 2.3ohm ...so on a 3.7V battery the 510 will put out more vapor and TH ...its simply an epression of Ohms law...even if you take into account that a 510 battery rates in at more like 3.3V the 510 atty produces more heat than the KR8..
My point here is they should be able to get what satisfies them right out of the box without having to play around with mixing juice...
In that vein without going the mod route and sticking to stock batteries, in order of decending performance you've got..
low ohm 510 atty with adapter on a KR8 battery
low ohm 510 atty on an eGo battery
standard joye 510 battery w adapter on a KR8 battery
standard eGo or 510
premium carto on an eGo battery
premium carto on a KR8 battery
standard KR8
801
901

now if we eliminate the KR8 battery which is where their issue lays (prticularly since by reading their problem it sounds as if they have XL KR8 autos (the manuals ARE better))...see strikethroughs above...granted I am assuming because they are trying to switch that they are using tobacco type flavors or menthol...as tastes change what is optimal for the flavor of juice may change

Since I really don't want to try to find and purchase another 4 starter kits somewhere else, I would really like to get these to working, even if it takes a mod. The xl batteries do last a good long time compared to the dismal battery life on our greensmokes. I have not had an xl battery go dead at all. Meaning I charge them for the night before they start dying. Can't get that with any of the shorter batteries.

I was thinking instead of getting the 501 attys with the adapters, which I had read helped this issue. Anyone have feedback on this or a way to seal some of the holes? If I use a 501 atty with adapter, what cart do I use? Or do you just drip the atty? Noob here.

Well I don't know about the KR808D-1 unit but the cartos are the greatest thing since ice cream. That is all I use any more and I can fill this room with vapor. One thing I noticed was the cartos like volts. Mine wouldn't produce alot of vapor on low voltages like the 510 but on my 5 volt passthrough and my 5 volt mods it's great. Now my 3.7 mod with dual cartomizers puts out vapor like a teapot, but it has 2 18650 3000mah batteries on it. Get a 5 volt passthrough for it. You can still use it in the car or the houst.

Pawpaw from the v4l subforum said he stuck a toothpick in one of the holes to tighten the draw up. Before you do this though, find him and ask exactly what and how he did this. Hope this helps.

I will look into the toothpick idea. I really love the battery life on these xl's, but the air issue is a killer.

Super simple, semi-permanent, yet easily reversible if you decide you don't like it.

Simply put the tip of a round wooden toothpick in one of the little air holes in the battery connector. Break it off, then use your fingernail or something to make sure it's jammed in good and tight.

If you still need a firmer draw, do it to another air hole.

If you decide to reverse it, just use a pin to dig it out.

Hope this helps.

I get pretty much decent vapor and TH on my KR808 cartos but i fill them with High Voltage liquid from Nahler. i used to have hardly any vapor when i used to buy the filled cartos thats why i switched to filling my own. I also use greencigs and i get loads of vapor there but a lighter TH so i usually spike up my nic level on my greencigs. Few people mentioned Greensmoke before. i would love to try one of these cartos. does the greensmoke fit any other batteries like KR808 with or without an adapter? would anyone know. Thanks
