I have two of these, for some reason one works better than the other. My second one gets used daily :)
The button is finicky, but once you get use to it, its not bad. That being said, if you have bigger/chubby fingers the button can be a PITA!
Did you get brass or copper?

I got two brass. Maybe I should try the other and see if it performs better. The button press is pretty short for the one I tried I dunno why I can't get it to work right lol

Is the delrin screwed down tight on the button? You may need to file it down a bit.

Cleaning/servicing the switch voids the warranty?
Not alot of confidence in their own switch.
Thats a deal breaker for alot of people.

Speaking of switches, Im also not impressed with the "clutch" system in the broadside/admiral.
Sketchy knowing this o rings that stretch with every button press hold the switch together.
If one breaks, instant autofire.

Yes @Bad Ninja if you open the switch it voids the warranty I can confirm this because I emailed looking to buy 2 switch springs to replace the ones in my clones I did. Not tell them thy were for clones lol I got a email back saying opening of the switch voided my warranty and thy will not sell any parts but I cud mail them my switchs and pay them to put new spring is can't do that cuz thy are clones

With the admirals im having problems with the 20700 get them all adjusted and if it not just right it will ether not fire or auto fire I would never buy a real one

Been using a broaside since they came out, yet to have an o-ring fail, same with the Subzero Shorty, but much longer time of use, similar setup no o-ring breakage, breaking magnets, bad spring could all cause an auto-fire. I'd also bet a good quality o-ring would probably outlast a spring. However unlikely crap happens and obviously not putting your mod in some inaccessible place where your unaware of firing taking place is the best bet.

When you set up the broadside or admiral always start at the top. unscrew the pin adjustment on the top cap to make it longer, push the pin up, screw the atty on so the atty presses the pin in a little, tighten the adjuster nut until it contacts the delrin of the top cap, back it out slightly, top should be set.

Slip the battery in, loosen the bottom battery contact pin tighten the top cap, now tighten the bottom pin, and you should be set. It sounds like a lot but once you get those close most of the time you'll only need to adjust the top slightly depending on the atty. Once you get used to setting it up it really is not difficult at all.

So I decided to take my switch apart on my authentic subzerox cause I seen the inside had some patina. And can confirm it is the same spring as the shorty/legendary. So you can order the shorty switch rebuild kit from sub ohm innovations. In all the pics the authentic parts are on the left. The spring on the clone is about a 1/4" taller on the highest point than the subzeroX/shorty/legendary spring. The two short springs, the left one is the subzeroX the right is shorty/legendary. The only difference I can see is the clone housing the bottom piece before the threads is a little shorter then the authentic.

Not sure why Kindbright changed the spring, I told them the longer spring breaks the lock and makes the switch much rougher in use, no idea if they listened. the first bunch of SZX I got were all great. They are currently going on batch 3, who knows what they change this time.

As for the voiding the warranty part, not sure how they'd know past customer admission not really much to the switch, certainly nothing tamper proof.

the rest of it is unique to the shorty/legendary, top pin and adjuster nut is probably the same, but only included in the $20 silver plated upgrade.

Only difference in the Shorty/legendary is the very bottom parts of the switch, everything else including clutch system is same.

They've yet to put out any spare parts for this latest gen. Last I visited they even removed the accessory sleeves for the SZX.

That's exactly what I thought too. Unless you strip the screw or really screw something up they can't know for sure if you took it apart

You have one? Those o-rings are BEEFY. I'm not at all worried about the o-ring breaking. I have both the Broadside clone and the Admiral clone... they're currently on top of my list of favorite mechs along with the Tomahawk X clone.

I have a Scndrl 2nd Edition inbound... let ya know...

I like the ones I have, the only bad thing I could say is the switch needs more attention then typical, if its not clean its much more obvious then other mods.

Tomahawk X, and the Original Tomahawk are probably my favorite tube mods. The X clone polishes up nicely, and getting rid of the white painted logo reveals a much nicer look. The finish on them is really tough and holds up to a 1500 grit wet sand, then green jeweler's rouge after. Black one changes from a sort of rough textured black to a near gunmetal glassy look. Silver goes from same textured to glassy silver, and logo is polished bare metal.

Love my authentic copper Tomahawk, sadly never cloned.

Admiral's that ship after the first batch will be marked as Admirals, no more Broadsides on the Admirals, After my whining session to the Kindbright gal they changed it  and sending me the following.

Sadly The Ti's will continue on as "Broadsides" from what I'm told, I was also told they are limited release and are actually outsourced by Kindbright.

I was gonna hit you up for the springs but I ordered the 11:11 mod and the mini Buddha v2 last night they have a 35% off sale. I did put the subzeroX clone spring in the xxx and feels better than the magnets

Sorry for the bad pic.
I have 20700 batteries and a Ti atty inbound and will post better pics when they arrive.
