I don't think Scott would have it any other way...if I didn't offer to take him, he'd walk to my house and jump on my windshield as I was pulling out of the driveway! I think my tinkering neighbor will come along, maybe a couple more. I really can't wait!

So wish Tulsa wasn't a four day trip for me. (drive time and meet-up, rest neck/back a day and recover from partying all night, drive time back, rest neck/back a day) I would so love seeing all you fine Okies.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

I have been using ceramic wick. Liking it a lot on the ERA. It won't break down and looks just like silica. No shorts like SS and good wicking. Like it much better than cotton. Breaks in and gets more absorbent like SS.

Used 30 A1 Kanthal. Took like 8 wraps to get to desired 1.7 ohm. Most vaper yet. I just don't know how 28 K would get to 1.7 ohms. Must take a ton of wraps. Rob are you going to include 28 with the Reobuildable? Yes I just named it for you. Lol

Dan,

I've been using 28AWG Kanthal using 10 wraps around a 3/32 drill bit making a nice tight 10 coils with a Double piece of 2mm Silica, best coil/flavor yet.

So would love to come!!! All the vape meets in Metroplex are far away AND that's not the same as visiting with dearest REOnauts. DH being out of town and having no one to doggie sit for several days makes it hard to stay away for long. I need to get my passenger mirror fixed, too. I have to re-tape it up every time I go out in my car. It's so hard to get things like that done as no buses for back and forth and taxi service is virtually non-existent. (The Acura place, 20 miles away, has loaner cars but prices for anything and everything are exorbitant.) I was at Best buy over 5 hours, waiting, when I had his car radio replaced. After the fact I remembered that they now have radios that have pause and hop like DVR. We so love that function on DVR and DH was so sad we didn't think about that. Both of us sometimes reach down to car radio to try to skip back. :p Luckily there was a semi-covered, outside bench area right outside (and Kindle and Phone to pass the time) and a Chinese Restaurant walking distance (and they now have light alcohol beverages and almost good sushi but super cheap and all you can eat); lots of fun things to play with in BB, too. (The Acura disk changer/radio is major tied in with touch screen GPS. It was amazing how much the dash and console and side panels had to be broken down!!!! More simple radios only take about an hour. At least we got Sirus for DH but we lost the GPS b*tche's voice as she runs through the radio and you have to replace with expensive Acura factory part to keep the voice. We didn't realize how dependent we were on the voice until not having it. This was one of the first factory installed GPS so the screen is not as big as newer cars.)

I'll be there with you guys in spirit.

You're both wrong, God loves Italians. (That's why He created so many beautiful women, just to show us how much He cares.)

Ever see Dennis Hopper's response to Christopher Walken in the movie "True Romance"? I love it. Not because it's a shot at Italians ( I have nothing against Italians) but because it is one of the great scenes of the the little guy winning in an unwinable situation against a much stronger opponent. So what ohms are you guys ending up with after all 10 wraps? How do you manage getting the wick in after coiling them around the drill bit? Anyone have a metric conversion for that size drill bit?

They're making the coils tight like a 357 then sliding it off the bit and live in the USA and shouldn't need a conversion :p

I wished I lived close to Tulsa too...been years since I was there (16 or 17 years old)... My dad is from Tulsa- born there and still have a few relatives around.

My first "memorable" trip west of Mississippi River (early 50's) was to visit my Uncle and family in Miami OK when I was a kid. Back then there were so many roadside, touristy cowboy and indian places. I was in "cowboy" heaven!!!! One of the first Major Christmas presents I can remember was an Annie Oakley outfit with double cap shooters, boots, hat, and plenty of caps. I protested skirt, though. (I never was into dolls, like my sisters, except for the ballerina doll (my parents did try to make me more girlie) with stage setup and outfits and matching outfit for me from Santa. That didn't last long, though.... back then the garbage men picked up garbage bags/boxes/etc., from inside back doors (imagine that now days:ohmy:) I left the big storage box/stage too near the back door, pick-up after Christmas and it went with all the Christmas trash. I didn't even cry so parents figured a replacement of something different would probably suffice. I probably liked the replacement better (I only remember them going to the dump to look for it.). When we were teens we did get Madame Alexander dolls but they were mostly for display.)

I am interested in trying out my first RBA... but I have questions...

1) What size drill bit?
2) Where is a good source for the wick and wire?
3) Can you buy the wire/wick ready to go already wound up and just drop it in?
4) Can you get different size wires/wicks to make your RBA function at different ohms?

Thanks :)

1. I assume you talking about the drill bit to wrap the coil around in which case 3/32"or a little bigger works pretty good but most of the time I just wrap mine around the silica itself just don't make it too tight
2.ebay or amazon is a good place to start
3.avid sells ready made 1's
4.yes there is several ways to get more or less ohms and different gauge wire is 1 also more or less wraps etc :)

Thanks for the info. To determine the actual ohm rating of how many coils or wraps you do, should you just use a multi-meter and measure it? If that's true, it's kinda like a redneck way of getting VV on a regular Reo Grande :)
