Really looking forward to getting this. So I have something for the VV woodvil that Is'nt as tall as the A7.

I want to order one, but which wick and wire set up should I buy? I just want to make a standard 2.0 Ohm setup.

Decidion, I use 32 AWG Kanthal and I do about 4-5 wraps and I get a coil that's between 1.4 - 1.6 ohms. If you wanted 2.0 ohm, I think you could use the 32 AWG and do about 6 or 7 wraps. There's a pretty good chart that shows the resistance per inch of different sizes of wire: Resistance Wire (ohms/in) This might help. Basically, the smaller the number, the "thicker" the wire, and the lower the ohms. (The lower the ohms, the more wraps it'll take to get up to 2.0 ohms.)
I don't use silica (I use cotton thread) so not sure about which size on that. But, I don't think it'll matter much. Maybe order a little of each and experiment.

there is a big thread about it somewhere, I myself re-rap my coils once a week so I don't worry about the evils of silica. I figure I'm replacing the silica before it breaks down to the point of logging tiny particles in my lungs but hey I could be wrong I often am
Here's a LONG thread about it. It's just a personal preference, and you will need to decide for yourself. I feel like cotton is safer, but am not really in a position to argue the point. I read (and participated in) this long thread about it...and I am convinced cotton is safer....it's just more natural and organic. Happy reading.

Evening everyone! Pretty excited to get one of Rob's RBAs! Looking to use it on my 18490. I also ordered some 28 and 30 awg to try and keep the ohm's down so I don't have to kick it.
