Can someone tell me if I'm alone here?

This isn't my first time quitting the analogs. In the past I did with various NRT's and even cold turkey a time or two. But here's the strange part-

When I would go some place where people were smoking and a whiff of smoke would go by my nose, that aroma was not a turn off. In fact it was like a beacon for my nose, calling me home.

But now, I quit using a PV and it's really different. I'm @ day 12 of vaping. Today my boss wants to go have lunch and on the way she fires up a Marlboro Light (my old brand). The smell was very acrid, really repugnant. It caught me by surprise.

Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? Is the vapor making me crazy?

Oh, and every time she came back in from having a smoke break... same thing.

I think I'm just so in love with vaping, it has replaced my previous addiction with a stronger one. Not so much that the actual vapor is a more addicting substance, its the entire act of it. I love tinkering with my supplies, trying out different juices, and feeling healthier. I know for a fact I'd never own a tackle box full of cigarettes, but I have one full of vaping gear.

For one thing, your sense of smell will come back. And yes.....this is a whole different animal altogether. Cigarettes smell sickening to me now. NOW I understand what non-smoker have against smoke.....for the first time. And I don't know if you have or not, but wait till you TASTE one after vaping for awhile. OMG! YUCK. I was totally surprised at how this has affected me (in a good way!) I'm soooo glad that I don't stink anymore. I smoked for 40+ years and for the first time in all those years, I smell what all the non-smokers around me all those years were smelling on ME! And it never never makes me want one....

Starting about a week after I started vaping, and going until about a month, cigarettes smelled FOUL to me. Nauseating.

Now... meh. They don't smell nice, the way they used to. I don't enjoy or desire the smell. But it's not as overwhelmingly unpleasant as it was before. Which is nice, actually, because for a while it actually made me feel sick. Kind of inconvenient, since most of my friends smoke.

WAIT A MINUTE HOLD THE PRESSES!!! They have smoking in bars where you are????

lol

A couple years ago they outlawed smoking even indoors here in Washington. You also have to be quite a distance from a door at any public place, like the mall and stuff.

I'll be honest with you I don't care how I personally feel about smoking. But if a person owns their own business (ie bar..small restaraunt...etc..etc..etc..) I think it should up to them as to whether it should be a non smoking establishment. Not the government.

Anyway I haven't smoked in a week but even 2 days in when my hubby was still smoking, They had already started stinking to me.

Happened to me just yesterday. Odd thing. I am now 13 days smoke free. 6 or so days in someone lighting up didn't bother me. I couldn't even smell anything gross, the smoke was still embedded into my nose. Today my dad lights up and i was so appalled by the stench from it. It literally shocked me enough I said eww gross out loud LOL. of course my dad was understanding but it was so odd to be able to actually smell the grossness of that aroma.. just plain odd after so long of smoking. amazing though huh?

I've never liked the smell or taste of cigarettes. I'm a smoker that hates smoking lol. But it's an addiction so I do it because quitting sucks (I have quit, just not for more than a year). I'm incredibly happy that we have an alternative, that if I want my nicotine fix I don't have to buy gum (yuck) or use a patch or, like my hubby, go the oral tobacco route (he uses Camel Snus, I keep hoping he will stop but at least he isn't smoking. I still worry about mouth/throat cancer though. He didn't like the e-cigs.)
