Hello all

A friend of mine sent me a e-cig as a gift, and now I am very happy and proud that I quit smoking cigarretes.

I want to buy a spare battery, a spare claromizer, etc, and am completed overwhelmed at the tremendous variety of brands, models, and kinds of everything.

is there a really "begginers guide" ? one place where I can know what kind of thread my battery has,how many does exist, what kind of charger I need, what is a mod, instructions on how to choose the nicotine concentration, what brands are the leaders, and why...

all sites speak of their products as everybody knows what they are talking about...

best regards

Al, Mexico city

We should probably start with asking what ecig your friend sent you? Did your friend give you any info about it or vaping before sending it to you or with it?

There is no single source for all the information that you seek. Once one was written it would become outdated the moment it was written. This industry is changing and progressing way too fast for that.

Here's a few links to get you started on your quest for knowledge and vaping enlightenment:

no, no info available.. battery says anyvape VOD, and the claromizer Aspire BDC, I received a HALO juice 12mc NIC
Basically you have a generic eGo battery. The tank is a clearomizer made by Aspire:

You fill the tank from below, turning the tank upside down and removing the base. Add liquid around the side of the tank, not into the center metal tube. Fill until just below the center tube. Replace the base.

The coil head/wick in the base will need to be replaced when you notice a burnt taste while vaping. Price is approximately $3 a piece.

For the two friends that I just started on vaping I spoke with another vaper to confer with.

He agreed that rather than just starting with an ego stick battery, that you should skip that step and go to an ego style variable voltage twist battery. Its easy to use and can maintain it's voltage throughout the life of the charge pretty much. You don't have to get overwhelmed with OHMs law yet either. Just turn it up until it feels right for you.

For tanks, I always recommend the protank 2 single coil with the air control base. Adjustible draw and it doesn't leak as much or onto the batteries as much as the others do. Also allows a gateway to building coils.

how do I stay away from pirate, cheap crap, when looking for batteries ?
Buy only from vendors who sell genuine ego Vision Spinners or Joytech Twists. It will say so in the product listing or description. If it doesn't, don't trust it.

Search reputable vendors such as AltSmoke, Discount Vapors, & My Vapor Store.

Echoing what Bad said, DV has a great twist clone and they sell replacement coils at a great price. Stock up on coils, when yours goes bad you'll want to replace it right away. After a while, if you're feeling adventurous, you can play around with rebuilding them so don't throw them away. IMHO, it's not worth rebuilding them but YMMV.

another question, how do I clean my coil ? I have googled that and found several different opinions... maybe it's the kind of "burner" or coils ?

everybody talks and shows off those state of the art devices, I am a beginner and until I know more about all of this, I am happy with the one I´ve got, mainly I am just looking for a replacement for not to smoke...

thanx !!

Great advice. I started with a vv. progressed a lot since. And the protank or aerotank are great. My aerotank has never leaked. And they finally updated their coils. Those old ones seemed to burn out quick for us chain vapers. Glad I learned to rebuild them.
