Puck,
Probably the biggest variable in battery life is the human part of the system.
The 4 AAA Nimh cells will last. Inexperienced vapers are often influenced by someone claiming 2 to 3 days from a single charge from a particular type of cell. Two days with an 750mah ego, 14500 lasting all day, a pair of CR123As lasting all day, you've seen it.
If the atty resistance is a part, battery watthours another part, then the human factor is most of the story.
I have read posts where an 18650 lasted someone 2 and a half days and they claim to be a 'heavy vaper'. I know a couple people :) that are on their second 18650 for the day and it's not 7PM yet.

The human factor, now that's what I'm talking about :)

Rboni used an 808 carto and got a good days vape on the 808 carto but if the resistance is 3.1 to 3.7, it should have lasted longer. I'm interested in seeing how long the 4 AAA NiMH works for you on your 808 cartos. After you get it built and operat'n, give us a report on how it does if you don't mind.

Rboni loved the amount of vapor he was getting and was happy with the battery he did get but I really believe it should get more life out of the batts with 3.1 to 3.7 ohms.

Rboni... are you holding down that vape button for ten seconds every time you hit it???? :)
10 sec ??? Uh no.. Prolly 6 or 7 tho. Why? Help or hurt?
BTW How's the drip /bottom feeder coming?

One of the factors in battery life is how long you hold down the button. It's not that big a deal since these batteries can last a while but while you are pushing the button, you are using you quoto of millamps per hour. There is only so many stored in a battery. The more you use per push, the less you will have.

It's like drinking a soda. Sip a soda and it may last all day. Talk large gulps of a soda and it will be gone in a few minutes.

My button hits are about 3 to 4 seconds long to get enough vapor to suit my needs. Some people need more, some less. when I'm having a bad day, I may need to hit it longer just to relieve stress but most days it's 3 to 4 seconds.

With me holding the button down 3 to 5 seconds, I get almost 24 hours (with sleep) with my 901. The other factor is how many times you hit it. I hit it pretty regularly and often. I vape at my desk all day at work.

The point is like Rocketman said... The human factor is a big deal in battery life and everyone is different. Everyone's needs is different. Some take a hit every few minutes. Some take 5 or 6 quick hits then sit it down for 10 or more minutes. Some may only hit it 10 or 20 times in an hour.

What consitutes a heavy vaporer? I don't think there is a real definition as we know it right now. Everyone's style of vaping varies and thus, most likely battery life will also but I know one thing.... NiMH rules :)

It's almost there. I have my design which works really great for a bottom feeder. I have spent countless hours building and testing different configurations and have my winner.

I'm out of town this week until friday (I'm sitting in a hotel right now typing this) so I can't build my complete protoype box but the design is ready.

When I get back, I will build the box with photos so ya'll can see.

Either way this thing is still the best I'v found. Had a Black beauty for a while/ of course the "juice Box" fiasco/ Got a Missys wet box, (which is great btw but it's 3.7 v and a little cold for my tastes) Plus numerous ans sundry mods of my own. This thing beats them all for pure vaping pleasure, (IMO).
(Killed the switch I used on it and am pullin hair out getting another one in it right now tho :(:censored:

Hey PUCK!!! What bottle are you using on bottom feeder. Standard 3 oz is a little thick to close cover. U got a thinner one? Will post pics when I get this working.

I've been working with the 3oz bottle. The trick is to cut a slot in the back cover of the controls box, big enough for the bottle to sit down in. It's a pain but the bottle fits when you cut the slot (rectangular hole, that is).

3oz bottle, cool, that should last me about 2 months of solid vaping. :)

yeah That was my solution also. looks crappy on this one but the learning curve will pay off. Shame there ain't a 2ml bottle out there.

next one I build will be in a 3 AA box like the puck but 3 14500 and a reg in the control box. Think a 5 mil bottle would work....
NOPE JUST CHECKED... PROLLY HAVE TO CUT ANOTHER SLOT OR STICK TO THE 3 MIL BOTTLE

I posted in the tutorial thread and want to give a shout out here as well. Tutorial was GREAT....made mine on the 1st try and I've never done anything like it before.

If you've got a tutorial for a feeder system, I'd really appreciate the tutorial for that.....

first of all, great mod. got me digging in my parts box (aka the junk box).
I have quite a few AA 2800mAh bats so I "enlarged" your puck, thanks for the idea!
I used the original "m" connector with a 808d1 to 510 adapter and put the 510 atty on it (works great!).
no LED, dont want to loose battery life to it... yea I know, its a minuscule amount (25mA).
At 2800 mAh this thing will last for... lets see, ohms law... 1.2 v x 4 (hold on, gotta loose a shoe) / resistance of the atty... (there went the other shoe)... carry the 1,,,*^@#%$ I ran out of fingers and toes!
this thing has been vaping for 4 days under light use and still going, I'm started my 3.5 day weekend (yea, I got it that way) and it will get heavy use so we'll see what it does.
Hmm... wonder what I can do with the bat pac from the RC car?

Yea, my original box was 4 AA NiMhs but wasn't a good size for me for "all the time" vaping which is why i went with the AAAs but the AA MiMhs really do last a very long time. They are great for extended vaping time when out and about :)

Looks good and clean by the way :)
