Not only that, but word of mouth is better advertising! :)

I honestly think the biggest draw to ECF is those crummy el-cheapo PVs. When people are dissatisfied with them, but still resolute that they want to make it work ... they head to Google. And, BAM! There's ECF, easy to find. That route is how I got here. Word of mouth is good, but lots of us find it through Google and an inquiring mind.
LOL, nobody told me about ECF.

But, as soon as I walked in the door, a friendly crowd greeted me and told me to RUN, don't WALK from the Free Trial I had just purchased. Whewww!

Unfortunately, it's impossible to know how many people don't bother to pursue a better solution. :(

I agree with that and thats how I found ECF. Maybe they should start sending email advertisements to people saying "STAY AWAY FROM FREE TRIALS". A fried of mine got burnt by one of them Prado trials. I told her but she wouldn't listen.

It's actually pretty hard to find this place on your own... If you are a fool like me. I kept finding all these so-called review sites that were really just advertisements for overpriced PV's. It wasn't until I started screwing around and trying to modify cartomizers for the greensmoke that I accidentally found ECF. I was very confused at first. I thought it was the best thing out there and ECF had such bad things to say about it! Then I started reading...

I don't remember how I first found out about this stuff, but I kind of did the same thing for a long time. I searched "electronic cigarette" and got all sorts of stuff. As I started to get a little more familiar with parts and whatnot, I started searching for phrases like "best atomizer" and ECF kept popping up with the best and most honest answers. Then I just bookmarked ECF and whenever I wanted to learn more, I would just come here and look. I just wish that I wouldn't have waited for a year before jumping in. I could be into my 2nd year without cigarettes, and maybe have come even with spending, LOL.

I had never heard of ECF before when made my first purchase. I was googling things like "best electric cigarette." Try that and enjoy the hilarious results.
Well, neither had I. But, I had heard of forums and knew there were forums for any imaginable interest. That phrase is precisely the one that led me here.

EDIT: I just checked it, and it's the forth item down in Google's autocomplete after typing in "electronic ci". Yay! That's a good thing.

You sir, are definitely wiser than I when it comes to searching. :) Fools like me are probably the ones who fund the "free trial" ad campaigns!

I hadn't even heard of e-cigs, until I heard ads from American Blue Tip & Vapor Mate.
When I called about the VM ad, I was told one carto was equal to one & a half packs.
I asked about the nic levels & was told it was 0 nic.
I then called ABT & they said the same.
I'm guessing it is on-par for all of these "free" deals, due to the FDA and such.

Personally, I'm thankful for the mass marketing of these products.
I'd still be sucking down at least a pack of American Spirits every day.
I know it's not good for the overall industry though.

Catch-22 all the way.......

(BTW...both ads aired on 1260 WNDE during the Jim Rome show.)

You have a pretty good point there. I started with and managed to quit using the inferior greensmoke. It wasn't until I became frustrated with it that I found the ECF. At least the word is getting out one way or another.

i've been getting those e-mails from prado...they arrive directly in my spam mail box. that should be a big red flag right there.

it's not surprising that people fall for it. my gf works in a bank, guaranteed every few weeks there will be someone falling for a nigerian mail scam. they simply don't want to hear that it's b.s.

Smoke Assist is how I found ECF. I googled it and only ONE hit came up for this site (lucky someone asked about it, or I probably would have bought one).

It made me find this site and realize a world I didn't know existed! I called them and said "what's the catch?" The guy was a true die hard aggressive salesman who finally fessed up, the carts cost $75.

It also made me realize, give one of these things to a normal consumer and they'll quickly grow tired and get rid of it and smoke more analogs. We may all take for granted our dipping, dripping, cartos, OHMs, mods, tea bag stuffing, etc.. but I would guess 95% of the folks that get these, don't keep it up. Heck, I'm on that same boat and I am happy with my new eGo, but It's still not quite that good to make most quit analogs.

Plus, could you see Billy Mays "Call now and we'll throw in 5 blank cartos, 20 5ml samplers of e-juice*, and a drip tip for free!"

In the bottom of the screen it says in really small letters:

*flavors and strengths selected at random, no substitutions

Oh wait.. we already have that last part. :)

Smoke assist and smoke assassin have been hitting the airwaves of Cincinnati pretty hard for a while. Before I started vaping I remember thinking WTF is this all about. I was just weirded out by the TV commercial... I was sitting there in my bathrobe, puffing on the RoughStack and all the sudden I'm watching these crazy people vaping on TV.

Indeed.....they HAMMERED our airwaves for a long, long time with that crap. I actually knew one person that fell for the "free" part and they got screwed. The device was crap and it had 0 nic....pointless for getting off the analogs. They were also duped into buying $80 worth of BS extras like a charger. LOL Plus, they automatically put them on subscription (CC billing) for refills. SCAM SCAM SCAM
