Hi,
I've recently started getting in to the DIY thing, and I saw a recipe in an old thread by AndriaD

e-cigarette-forum.com/threads/making-a-strawberries-and-cream-juice.714154/

Looks nice, bought the ingredients, did a batch 2 days ago.

I've just noticed, on the suppliers site, that Inawera Shisha Strawberry is recommended at 1-5%. I followed the recipe and used 16% - was that a typo? (1.6% maybe?)

Cheers folks,

Hi and welcome,

WOW, that is high.
I have only used INW ShishStraw as an accent and never over 5%. 16% "seems" a bit excessive, but we all taste things differently.
@AndriaD, as far as I know, now spends her time over at VU. You may be able to ask her directly, "over there".

BTW, how does it taste?
I find the creams need a longer aging than the fruits, so I would mix the Bav creme and van swirl and give it about two weeks aging before adding sweet creme. A week later I would add about 8-10% of the fruit. shake and vape. Add more fruit as needed and finally add sweetener at .5% at a time as desired.

Cheers
I

Only mixed it two days ago, so wont try it for a while but it smells very, very......very strawberry !
I always give it a vape ASAP and make a note or two.
As it ages, I"ll vape a few drops every week or so.

Some mixes have a "perfect" age and some just get better (custards for example) as they age and some, like delicate fruits or some menthol/mints, seem to fade after too much time has passed.

May I ask which device you are using? Topper/tank/battery device.
You may find a mix from 2015, needs to be tweaked a bit if you are using a current model vape.

Have fun

AndriaD always uses very high percentages (she started out using the shisha at 23% iirc). I would suggest pulling off 5ml of your mix and adding 10ml of base to it and adjust the base until you find your happy place. Personally I prefer the shisha sb at 2%.

Inawera Shisha Strawberry 16%
TFA DX Bavarian Cream 6%
TFA Vanilla Swirl 4.5%
CAP Sweet Cream 2%
TFA Sweetener 2% - 3% (I used 1%)

Do you think I'd need to up the % of the other flavours?
I would just add base to the already mixed juice and adjust that way. The highest I take TFA vanilla swirl is 3% and usually just use 1-2%. I don't use bavarian seldom use CAP sweet cream. Is you dilute mixed juice you will notice at what point you're happy with the strawberry but maybe missing some of the cream notes. If you are using the ELR calculator click on the blue wrench and there is an option to reduce the recipe flavor % as a whole. So your mix is 29.5%, you can ask the calculator to reduce the flavor % ( I would start the reduction at 40% personally). Just do a few ml of the reduced recipe and see what you might be missing and what is maybe okay or too high.

No, that wasn't a typo. I followed her recipe and used the shisha strawberry at 14%...it was thoroughly enjoyable at that percent but not something I could vape all day. That would be a good percentage in an old fashioned cartomizer or a very early rda/tank. I needed that type of strong flavor when I first had quit smoking. I still enjoy a strong tobacco or custard recipe. Search for the recipe "Scutch" on here....very nice recipe despite it being considered too strong now, it wasn't then.

Our AndriaD still uses her beloved Achilles rda. Extreme tight draw.

I also have here FCC Wild Strawberry & TFA Strawberry Ripe !
Ripe & shisha pair beautifully. Ripe 3 & shisha 1.5 is my sweet spot. I mix for my cousin and ripe 4 & shisha 2 is where she likes them. Some like the ripe better higher - up to 8.
