I THINK it's safe to say, that she's one of those woman who will never admit defeat. Just move on, it's so sad that people will just not research ecigs, however, ecigs are NOT perfect BUT 95% better! The FDA I fear will never give up on going after us because of BIG PHARMA!

Rick... don't argue with idiots on the internet. All they do is drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Or like the old saying goes--when you wrestle with a pig, you both get dirty and the pig enjoys it.
I am partial too.Never get into a battle of wits with an unarmed person.:D

I don't argue with people of FB....it's a road to nowhere. One of my friends was trying to quit smoking and having a hard time with it. I suggested vaping. She proceeds to tell me that twice she tried vaping and it gave her pneumonia and her doctor agreed that it was probably due to vaping. Then one of her other friends chimed it to say vaping is worse than smoking. I only answered once, saying that I believe vaping did not cause her pneumonia and to her friend that she should do some research and she would find out differently. Then I moved on. My friend never said a word about whether she actually quit cigs....I highly doubt that she succeeded or she would have posted about it. Oh well, I tried

People believe headlines and love drama. I ignore the unreasonable ones that will not discuss rather than argue. Their mind is already made up, why should I waste my time with them?
Yeah - and they love controlling other people. And they're gullible. Completely brainwashed by mainstream media. You'd think they'd be more concerned about their kids possibly vaping (or eating) a Tide Pod.

ETA - I'm (almost) so over FB. I started on forums before FB ever existed. FB has turned into something like a sore thumb. You need it (to keep in touch with certain people who may not live in your area and wouldn't otherwise connect with regularly), but it's also incredibly annoying. I'd rather be here, TBH ;)

It seems like a losing battle with people like this.

My brother-in-law told me vaping is more harmful than smoking when I asked him why he hasn't tried vaping to quit smoking. I then asked where he heard that and he replied "your sister" (his wife).

It angers me that she is so misinformed but she is bull-headed and domineering, and will never be convinced otherwise, even though my cardiologist is thrilled that I am vaping rather than smoking (admit that I am a dual user that still smokes a couple butts per day). So I guess she would rather see him smoke, and continue to spread misinformation, which is very discouraging to me - for all of us - but especially for him.

Yeah, and what's a Facebook?

Being old and intolerant of nonsense has it's advantages. Facebook is useless to me and I'm avoiding a lot of aggravation by just pretending it doesn't exist.

I would like to give you a "Like", an "Agree" as well as a "Winner" but was limited to merely one choice.

@gpjoe , if it's any consolation, I have a brother that hates me too... LOL, not for vaping issues, just generally. We don't get along.

It's a shame your sister is that way about vaping... Is she a smoker? Or a never-smoker who just hates all things nicotine?

It's hard to be a BIL arguing against "the wife," for sure. It's always surprising who will have objections to vaping, and when. Even my MOTHER doesn't want me to stop vaping. LOL, though, I kind of think a few members of my family were on "death watch" status, the last 18 months I was smoking and had pneumonia, pretty much non-stop, and there's nothing like a good laryngeal cancer scare to get people happy you are vaping (oddly, I was the only one not scared, I was pretty convinced I didn't have it, and I didn't but my approach was, well, any cancer I get, I have thoroughly earned, so, why complain?)

I'm glad I switched to vaping. Everyone who knows me is glad I switched to vaping. There is no anti-vaping sentiment around my house, that is for sure.

She's an ex-smoker.

And to be clear, she doesn't hate me, but she is stubborn.

I just feel bad for him, and he's slowly killing himself while she tells him what's what. He's so nice and happy-go-lucky that he toes the line with her. I love her, but we do .... heads on things, if only because I stand up to her - but I don't have to live with her either.

I can see her arguing with the same voracity as the angry Facebook lady in the original post. Trying to convince some people otherwise is hopeless.

ricks, I appreciate your time and effort in engaging online about it.

When people come at me with crapnews about vaping, I tell them pg is used in medical inhalers, and that vg has internal medical applications, such as suppositories and ear drops. I tell them how nicotine is used to treat symptoms of bowel disease, and how nicotine has applications in the prevention of the cognitive diseases of old age. Of course some will come back asking how I know that stuff. I ask them where I can send the links to mainstream news and medical articles. It is worth the time. It's an uphill battle.

I do admit to them that the flavorings are the unknowns for me, when it comes to safety. I use clove. All I know is that my lungs cleared up right away when I traded vaping for cigarettes, that bronchitis no longer plagues me, and the smokers cough I thought was permanent was gone within the first few weeks, never to return. On the issue of flavors, I tell them I'm perfectly happy vaping unflavored when I'm out among people, but that I'd rather not have government be my nanny.

Those are conversations with family, friends and strangers who ask. I don't spend much time engaging online about it though. I'm too busy in political brawls online, haha.
