"Holland" is merely the the name for two of the twelve provinces in the Netherlands
Noord-Holland (North Holland) where Amsterdam is located
Zuid-Holland (South Holland) where Den Haag is located
So actually Nederland (Netherlands) is the correct name. Holland tends to be used by persons from abroad to refer to it as the whole country
