Hello,
I have been looking at E-cigs for about 6 months. My little brother came to visit and he mentioned he had made the switch and kiced the analog habit. Unfortuneatly he jumped in the lake and his Volcano Magma quit working, so I wasn't able to try it out. Good news is he pointed me towards this forum, which I have been reading for about 24 hours. While I get the gist of most of the information. It is still a little overwhelming8-o.
I haven't ordered anything yet but I probably will within the next week or two, once I get it narrowed down a bit

So like every other noob I have a few questions:
1. When you talk about battery life....so many hours......how does that equate to in puffs? How many average puffs is that?
2. I don't have alot of money to just throw around a try different setups....whats best for a pack a day Marlbro red smoker? Thats gonna last for about a month?
3. If I get a 2 piece setup can I use it as a 3 piece? and visa vera?
4. How long before the average cload of Vapor disapates?(I wanna stealth smoke at work)

I don't mind the hastle of refilling and pretty much plan on it long term. I also don't mind carrying a small case with extras in it but I don't wanna have to carry around a Man-Bag full of stuff either. Is there a thread that has pics of peoples setups? Both for on the go and Home?

I Hate to ask questions that ya'll have probably answered a billion times, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx in advance

Hi and welcome to ECF.
1 Cant answer the puffs thing, I never counted before but it is allot.
2 I used to say 510(thats what I started with) but now KR808D1 or the best would be and ego.
3 You can use just about anything on anything with adapters and they are cheap.
4 The cloud of vapor goes away pretty fast. It's not like smoke. You can purposely cloud up a room if you tried real hard I guess. You can also hold it real long and blow nothing out (stealth vaping)

Welcome!

I use the KR808D-1 and I vape pretty frequently. I get between 2-6 hours of a battery. 2 hours if I am home chain vaping and 6-9 hours if I am in the hospital doing clinicals and only get to stealth vape in the bathroom every so often.

I have never worked with an adapter because all my stuff is for the KR808, but I know there are tons of adapters out there.

I refill my cartomizers with my own juice and it is very cost efficient. I also smoked a pack per day prior to vaping and I would go through 3-4 cartomizers per day prior to filling my own. Now I just top them off throughout the day so I don't know how much I use.

I stealth vape too, and the vapor dissipates really really quickly. I do it in class regularly, and if you hold it in long enough you do not exhale much, if any, vapor.

My on the go set up is 1 10mL bottle of my favorite juice, 3-4 cartomizers in case any of them malfunction, a toothpick to pop the mouthpiece out to refill the liquid, and I carry 4-5 batteries with me. And a papertowel to wipe up any mess. I am a little OCD about running out of battery power, so that is why I carry 4-5. Honestly, 2-3 would probably be sufficient. I also have a USB adapter in my car to do a battery charge if I need to. It also plugs into my USB on my computer so I can charge during class if needed.

Hope that helps!! Wishing you the best of luck!!

Hi Redneckhippy and welcome to ECF!

I have a kr808d-1 and a passthrough, and am real happy with both. It's a cheap way to get started.

Check out mistressnomad's vidoes for newbies at the top of the page for some great ideas to getting started for little money.

Keep in mind that you will probably not be able to duplicate the marlboro red flavor, since what you smoke is burned tobacco and what you vape taste more like fresh tobacco. Try different flavors in small sample sizes until you find one you like.

Hey, welcome to ECF! It can be confusing at first, but really, just start with the well-trusted models and pick one. Any one of them is a great place to start.

Hello,
I have been looking at E-cigs for about 6 months. So like every other noob I have a few questions:
1. When you talk about battery life....so many hours......how does that equate to in puffs? How many average puffs is that?
That's hard to say. Here's what I can tell you. With now I vape, a regular 510 lasts 1-2 hours, a Kr808 lasts 4-5 hours, and an eGo lasts about 12 hours.
2. I don't have alot of money to just throw around a try different setups....whats best for a pack a day Marlbro red smoker? Thats gonna last for about a month?
I would recommend you start with a Kr808 ($35) or an eGo ($45-$60). Either one is a good kit. The Kr808 is more cig-like, but the eGo has a better battery. It's kind of like a small cigar. Still comfortable to hold.
3. If I get a 2 piece setup can I use it as a 3 piece? and visa vera?
Yup. A Kr808, which is normally a 2-piece set-up, can use a 901 atomizer and cart, and an eGo can use 510 cartomizers, or eGo cartomizers, making it a 2-piece.
4. How long before the average cload of Vapor disapates?(I wanna stealth smoke at work)
For me, 3 or 4 seconds. But you can take smaller puffs, or hold it in a bit longer, to reduce the vapor output.
I don't mind the hastle of refilling and pretty much plan on it long term. I also don't mind carrying a small case with extras in it but I don't wanna have to carry around a Man-Bag full of stuff either. Is there a thread that has pics of peoples setups? Both for on the go and Home?
All you really need is 3 batteries, 3 or 4 atomizers, or 10 cartomizers, and a bottle of juice. For a day out? Bring a spare battery (maybe 2, or a PCC, if you get the Kr808), an extra atty, and a small bottle of juice, or 2-3 full cartomizers. It won't take up any more space than a pack of cigs.

I go out with either:
An assembled Kr808, and my PCC with an extra battery and 2 full cartomizers in it.
Or
An eGo with a full 2ml cartomizer on it - maybe a small bottle of juice, but I don't need it usually.

I Hate to ask questions that ya'll have probably answered a billion times, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx in advance

Hope that helps, and good luck! You can get the Kr808 or the eGo, and juice, at LiteCigUSA.net, FreedomSmokeUSA.com, and lots of other places.

Only thing I would add is a drip tip. You attach the drip tip right to the atomizer instead of a cart and directly drip a few drops of juice into the atomizer. And, if you are near a computer often, a passthrough. Basically this takes the place of a battery and plugs into a USB. You then attach either your atomizer and cart or a cartomizer, therefor saving your batteries life. IMO, I prefer empty cartomizers and fill them with my own juice. Carts, IMO, are messy and you are CONSTANTLY topping them off, like every few puffs...very annoying!

I was smoking 1+ PAD reds when I switched, I had a 510 and was not happy with the battery life, I went for the Ego and love the battery life. I started with a bunch of 3ml flavors to try and as soon as I found one that I liked ordered some bigger bottles and the xl cartomizers that hold about 2.5ml, I carry 2 setups, (batt and cartomizer) that lasts me all day and I am pretty much always puffing on it. still trying other flavors with with a drip tip but I like having the xl carto and not having to fuss with it while I am at work.

Is the TW Titan or the Volcano brand any good?

The TW Titan and the Volcano Magma are both branded 510's. It's a great model, with poor battery life. If it's worth it to you for the cig form factor, go for it, but get extra batteries. If you want more battery life, the eGo (or the TW Tornado - same thing) use 510 atomizers, but have a bigger battery.

OK
Is the Vapor king a 510 or an Ego? I guess this is where the confusion comes in.....the Vendor sites have thier name for a model but in most cases don't show what size it is (510 80d,ego....)

If you are referring to Value4Life's Vapor King, that is a KR808. SmokeStik is a 4081, etc. Many of the "brands" likely do not want to put what they are as it would increase the probability of people shopping on price... if i had to guess...
