Received my order from Box elder Chemical co. today consisting of 1 liter of 100mg nic which arrived in 2 500 ml PLASTIC bottles. I have previously made it clear that my intent is store this nic in the freezer for quite a while. What research I have done tells me that plastic leaching is one of the main sources of nicotine degradation. So....I need to get it into glass. On the bright side, it occurred to me that I would have had to break it down into smaller bottles eventually anyway--not gonna want to bring out the half/liter bottle from the freezer every time I want to mix.
So, my question is two-fold:
Where do I buy seal-able bottles made of glass?
What size bottles do I want to transfer the liquid into in order to be practical for the day when I began mixing my own? 250 ml? 100 ml?
Since this is the first time I've handled this stuff, any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, REOnauts.:)

Hiya Roger! what i did was get a gallon of vg (or you could get pg) and i pre-mixed my base. I used canning jars that are the freezing kind. the little 4 oz jars worked great. I mixed the vg and nic with an egg beater. it won't expand in vg, so I filled it almost to the top. double bagged in ziplocks and put it in tupperware. wayne and lisa are also breaking down some 100mg, so you might want to check with them as well:)

I choose to use ice cube trays to make ice cubes, then put them in pyrex bowls. I take out a cube and thaw as needed.

:?: You actually had your nicotine feeze??? My VG based gets really thick like mollases, but doesn't freeze at 0 degrees F... My PG based never gets really thick at the same temp. This is 100mg (10%)-500mg (50%) nicotine bases.
Post #2 from the below thread...
"Just an FYI but propylene glycol will will not freeze to a solid in a domestic freezer - its melting point is −59 °C (−74 °F). Freezers usually operate around -18 °C (0 °F), to my knowledge, with higher power ones perhaps going to -30 °C or so. PG can be used as a safer form of antifreeze due to this property. With that in mind glass or plastic shouldn't really matter as it won't be freezing (and hence expanding to crack the container) but I've never tried it myself. Personally I would suggest just keeping it in the fridge in a tightly closed container for extended storage."

Read posts #2 and #7 from this thread. Storing high strength nicotine in plastic for extended periods of time is a bad idea... (As per a professional chemist in post #7)

Thanks for the comebacks, Mike. Yes my interest is in loooooong term storage in the freezer. I figure I have a couple of years of store-bought juice to vape up.
What I've read suggests that 100mg stores best in its original state--without being mixed. I'll go to the Cobalt bottle site later after I find something to eat.

They do not freeze SOLID. I actually put them in individual little baggies. Then into the bowl. I use a deep freezer. Never checked its temperature, but its on the coldest setting. The refrigerator freezer is not cold enough to get them more than a slushy consistency. If this helps?

I'm rather lucky that many of my kitchen items are restaurant grade extras, from a business I had....

Bushmaster - I have about 3 liters of nic on hand. From several suppliers. Some of which ship using plastic. I transfer to glass. You can find glass bottles from 15ml up to 500 ml at:

BOTTLES - MyFreedomSmokes.com

I am only providing this in case the speciality bottle company Mvgratz kindly listed for you has min order quanitities. MFS is most likely a bit pricier but if needed you can buy only one or two.

I have read many posts about nic storage and with young kids in the house I choose to just keep it in a cool dark cabinet away from anyplace they may be reaching and digging around in. Happy vapes

Mike, do you use the European dropper bottles? I noticed that was what Kurt, the chemist recommended in the "bottle help for freezing nic help" post.
How do you transfer your juice from the big bottles to the small ones?

Rodg, here's where I get mine for just this very purpose...

Cobalt Blue Boston Round Glass Bottles - Specialty Bottle

What sizes you'll want them broken down to will depend on how much and how strong the juices your intent on making will be. :)

I use the cobalt blue bottles with screw on tops. I fill them as full as possible to eliminate any air being in the bottles. Air is the enemy of nicotine. I use syringes to transfer my nicotine bases. I use protective gloves that cover up to my elbows, safety glasses, and transfer in my utility sink basin in case of a spill. Just be careful and you'll do just fine. Common sense is the most highly underated action that is practiced by folks these days. I know if I can do it safely that you can too. :)
