Reading thru all the info on the new members forum is helpful to me so I don't mind the 5 post before going up a level, that way I get to ask questions I would not have thought to ask without the information I was learning.

Now for the one complaining about all the money spent on e-cigs and just starting...anything you start costs money and we make mistakes so we have to spend more to get it right, you can take up fishing (now thats a cheap hobby LOL) a carton of Cigarettes cost over $40.00 and I am burning thru a carton and more in a week, so I figure after I find the right e-cig for me and all the accessories all I will have to buy is the juice and batteries and atty's when they stop working, in the long run it will be alot cheaper. Do I know what I am doing??? WRONG but I am willing to learn

my family in new jersey is paying 8 bux a pack of virginia slims. a pack a day at $8 x 365 days a year = $2920 a year so even lets say someone tries even 3 types of e cigs at lets say $150 each kit (i know theyre way cheaper than that) ($450 total) and then sticks with some juice at 15 bux for 30ml and lets say 2 bottles of juice per month ($30 a month x 12 months = $360) and even more conservative lets say they use cartos for 9 bux a 5 pack and uses 1 carto per day and throws them away = 365/5= 73 packs of cartos at 9 bux = $657) add it up $450 + $360 + $657 = $1467 a year. now even where cigs are only 5 bux a pack in some states still $5 x 365 = $1825 a year so even thenits almost 400 a year savings. thats christmas money every year

I totaled it up and we were spending ~$300 a month on analogs. We're now spending ~$120 a month on Vape. Now every once in a while, I get worried about my shipment from China, but by now I've got enough supplies that I can get by for a short while. And the shipment usually gets here. As a matter of fact I have yet to lose a shipment, but I got real worried a while back, was a month late.
But a couple of members here, helped me out and I got through. :headbang:

I payed $46 for 901 and $8 for my 1st bottle of juice at 16ml not 2 mention 2 free bottles of 3ml juice plus shipping was $59.00 they gave me 2 battreys with my kit so I have bought another addy and another bottle of juice for 21 bucks so far I have been vapeing the sample bottles because with every purchase of juice you get a free sample on them. I spent $30 week on cigs and that was trying to cut back not all the time when I did it all the time it was $50 a week so I'm saving money in a couple of weeks from my initial output. So go check out awesomevapor.com they have good prices and a summer sale going on.

Thank you, Windpray.

Also, I think there are 2 reasons newbies say, "This isn't going to save me money, this sucks!"

1. They look at the "pleasure vapers" on the site who are genuinely trying to do more than just get nicotine in their bodies. These people spend hundreds or thousands on the newest, best e-cigs, juices, mods, etc.

2. They get the wrong e-cig their first time and/or wind up dealing with a company who is unwilling to provide them with any decent customer service.

I just bought everything I'm going to need for probably the next four months (batteries, cartos, e-juice, DIY juice supplies, etc) for under $100. And I only used supplier that recieved nothing but raves on ECF. And so far, the customer service I've gotten has met that expectation.

I only spent $50 a month on smoking (I roll my own with bulk tobacco), and assuming I learn how to do all this stuff without wasting or destroying too much of my stuff, I'll still be saving money on e-cigs.

Hell, even if I waste 30 or 40 or even 50 bucks in making mistakes and wrecking my stuff, I will STILL save money.

If your goal is to save money, there's a way to go about it. It requires you to do your homework.

I spent $400 in my first month.. DO NOT.. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, EVER go through smoothsmoking.com It is the WORST e-cig ever. It doesn't do anything besides light up and the liquid smells like mold. So, so disappointed.

Even though the starting investment is a bit crazy,- especially if you're like me and avoid research, the end savings is great. I have and will save a lot, including my health and my life.

Edit: I used to spend 140 a month, sometimes 250.. now I spend 25-30.

yeah but do the math and tell us how much that loan would be on the cigs you use to smoke

actually not that bad only $20,000 BUT thats if i can still get them at 5 bux a pack in 10 years and doesnt include the cost of recharging my oxygen tank and all the accessories that would go along with that

I just love it when 'friends' make remarks about my vaping supplies and PVs or the cost of said items. I smile as they truck to the nearest convenience store and plop down over 8.00 a pack for smokes (every day). This while hacking and coughing fits are in full swing. I would feel badly for them if they were not so busy managing my life instead of their own.

That said I helped my 13th person with info to get started vaping today.

thats why i quit trying to explain it to people but ive noticed some are so committed to smoking saying they love it and will never quit. for me i liked it when i was 15 and thought it was cool but recently i hated every wheeze and hack with a passion but couldnt stop. i can definitely see why people say they love vaping though, i enjoy it very much

Just because I think you're from the same Washington I am.. I was told they are planning on going up as high as $10.80 this Summer. Last time I bought a pack it was $9.56.

I started smoking e-cigs 2 weeks ago. Switching was a no brainer, and wasn't a problem. I switched to e-cigs with ease. I have to say after the first 3 days of no tobacco, I felt better already. Now, only two weeks into it, I feel great. I sleep better, people even tell me I look younger (is that possible at 43?). I'm not hacking up lung butter any more, and I don't smell like smoke any more. Non-smokers are no longer offended by me. My car is starting to air out. My clothes feel and smell cleaner. My pets like me again.

The smell of cigarette smoke is starting to get irritating (other people's smoke). I will NOT become one of those tyrant ex-smoker/anti-smokers, however, I am now an e-cigarette advocate. I have converted many long time smokers in just 2 weeks. Even my father, 68, who smoked a pack a day Camel cigs for 53 years, converted and had no problem in doing it. He loves the e-cigs I got him and hasn't touched tobacco in almost a week now. If I can do it after 23 years of smoking, and my wife after 35 years, and my father after 53... YOU CAN DO IT TOO!

Find the right e-cig for you, a 2 piece system works great for noobs like us. Find a make/model that has high ratings (this forum suggests the Joye 510 for a 3 piece system and the KR808D-1 for a 2 piece system) and go with it. Buy an extra battery or two, a few chargers (PCC, wall charger, USB charger) and a bottle or two of juice and you're good to go. The KR808's cartomizer/cartidges can be refilled several times, until the atomizer burns out. Each cartomizer costs around $1.25, juice to refill it 20 times about $5. That's 20+ packs of smoking worth for around $6.25. It's a no brainer.

Hi, yes we are from the same WA, you are on the coast and I am in Tacoma. I saw another of your posts and intended to say hello and welcome to vaping.

I think they are a little cheaper here because of all the reservations, maybe. Folks in your area would have to drive farther to get better deals, I guess. The way they keep going up here, I expect it will be over 10.00 a pack real quick. Factor in the state's budget shortfall and that will kick the sin tax in high gear for sure. I work for the state and they are making me take furlough days without pay but still expect me to do the same work and squeeze it in on the other days, makes me mad.

There are a couple sub forums for the area but not much activity. NW Steampunks and I forget the other one.
