I'm generally not a worry ward when it comes to drinking from a plastic cup or stuff like that.

But recently discovered that some e liquids can cause a melting or breakdown of polycarbonate clearos like a lot of the Kanger (non-pro tank) polycarbonate ones.

Now it got my thinking overall ..should I worry about vaping at all from plastic clearos or just buy couple of Pro tanks and not use the other ones ?

The whole idea of this vaping to me is to minimize as much cancer risks as common sense and practically as possible.
Thoughts?

I'm not a scientist or anything like that, I've just read this several places on the Internet (including several rather lengthy threads on here, don't know how to link to them from the iPad, but the search function should turn up what you're looking for), so that makes it true. Bonjour! The reason it breaks down polycarbonate tanks is due to a reaction between the flavoring component and the tank. If the tank is cracked or discolored, toss it to be safe. Unless your lungs are made of polycarbonate, you probably have nothing to worry about. Back to vaping my orange flavored e liquid with a glass tank now...

I see no reason to use polycarbonate when there's other viable options out there. Like pyrex. Polycarbonate is being questioned in many countries for its suitability for food storage and use in bottles for water, etc. Some have deemed it safe, some have banned it for use in i.e baby bottles. Some are looking to ban it for food/liquid storage altogether.

I urge people to make up their own minds and not base any decision on my paranoia about polycarbonate and endocrine disruptors. Just saying I don't feel comfy using polycarbonate tanks, whether it be with tank cracking juices or not.

I vape clove flavor. And yes I learn very quickly how fast my juice can destroy a plastic clearo. Within a few hours and it cracks. And if my atty leaks, it "melts" my box mod. I was looking around and found the KangerPro II and just received it today with my nic to make more juice. Its awesome. 20 bucks for glass tank with an extra coil. Perfect. no leaks yet....may be able to buy a nice mod now since it looks kinda goofy on a generic 3AA vv box mod.

My thoughts exactly.

I won't EVER use polycarb again. I just recently lost 2 evods to cracking..... and although there obviously aren't enough studies yet regarding the safety of ecigs....or the health risks..... I do NOT think vaping from plastics like polycarb is a good idea.

If DRINKING from certain plastics leeches chemicals into the liquid over time, harmful chemicals....I wouldn't be surprised if vaping does the same. Just doesn't seem like a good idea....

Pyrex, and even polypro plastic tanks are cheap enough for ANY vaper to not have to worry about risking your health, everytime you vape.

You can spend around $50, and get 4 HIGH QUALITY tanks. As an example: A kanger pro tank, a mini pro tank 2, a Polypro DCT carto tank, and a pyrex DCT carto tank, no prob. 4 delivery devices should be MORE than enough for any vaper :)

There are currently TONS of awesome carto tanks, and glass clearos on the market right now. No reason to ever bother with crap plastics like polycarb

Here's an interesting twist. I'm writing this while vaping happily away or my eroll, which uses a small plastic tank that feels different than the plastic used on clearos like the iclear 16 and evod. Does it present the same potential issues? I LOVE my eroll as it is as powerful (3.7V) and uses the ego c atty, but is cigarette size and perfect for taking it out in public or stealthing at my desk.

Glass bottles/drippers and glass clearos/tanks keep better and to me make everything taste purer. Wish I had know that when I started...could have save a few bucks and a lot of time.

When I got my first kit, I thought I saw glass ones and asked about them and was told me the plastic, disposables were better for newbs. Not true and if you think about it maybe a bit insulting. it's purely logical. I should have done my research first and stuck to my instincts about glass. Most plastics (with vapes, with food, with drink, in or around anything) taste weird to be anyway even if it's all in my head.

Now the only thing I worry about introducting unecessary chemical reactions into my vaping experience is the stringy thingy at the bottom of my BCCs. HAving hung around ECF for a bit now, fear I know what this means, but I'm such a spaz at hand-doing things I may be doomed to be stuck with what I get. Sigh...

By the way, I absolutely love the Davide Glassomizer Minis. I hear the big ones are great too but I'm not into big ones.
