I've been vaping for a week and really enjoy it. The Ego C Twist is awesome. However, the vivi nova only served me right a few tanks and I started getting a burnt plastic taste. I'm putting it (two 2.4 resistance) in alcohol overnight and will dry burn it tomorrow.
However, I put on a new 1.8 (that also comes with the nova) and after a few puffs, started getting the burnt taste again. As I'm typing this, I just put on a 2.8 (also comes with the nova) to see how things go.
Maybe cleaning it and dry burning will help. I personally wouldn't mind it too much if it really works. But I'm also planning to give e cigs as gifts to some very important, smoking ppl, and they don't even speak English. I kinda hope there is an easier to maintain system that I can give to them. They probably won't bother learning the in and out of the viv nova.
Are there other clearos that doesn't have the burning taste problem?
THanks
The E1-V SCHOOLS the Vivi Nova MINI (please be sure to point out the mini part). The regular Vivi Nova is the best there is in full size clearomziers (for APVs because the metal replacement tank effectively makes it the "forever clearomizer") but the mini version is weaksauce compared to the E1-V. Here's why:
1: The E1-V has a fluffier wick which gives it a slight advantage in flavor over the Mini.
2: The E1-V screws metal onto metal whereas (as you well know) the Mini screws metal onto PLASTIC threads (see also: fail for durability if you crossthread).
3: The E1-V covers the EGO cone threads. The Mini requires a EGO thread collar/sleeve to do the same thing, an extra expense.
4: They are the exact same price.
5: The E1-V is not as ugly as the Mini.
Drawbacks:
1: They hold .5ml less juice than the mini but have a slimmer profile
That's 5 reasons why you should try the E1-V, and one very minor reason you should not. They are also both rebuildable and there are videos showing how to do that on my blog, as well as pertinent information in wicking materials (cotton or bamboo thread owns silica which one study I've seen shows silica is dangerous) and wire resistance (and what wire is best is also covered).
If you want to see the E1-V vs. the Mini vs. the Kanger T2, in action there's a video on the mini tank showdown on my blog (link's in my signature) by my buddy Estarra - it's almost at the bottom, you'll see it.
E1-V Clearomizer (LR)
Also note that at the time of this post they are sold out of SR's. There are some bad reviews on the site by either newbies who don't know what they are doing, OR the China Factor. There is no quantifying whether you'll get a bad one or not, but that applies to just about all vaping products at this point.
Oh and make sure that before you go ordering replacement heads to talk to the vendor because there is an issue with some of them not working. Talk it out and make sure you're getting the right thing. The best thing to do is to learn how to rebuild them though. There's no greater sense of accomplishment in vaping than when you rebuild your first atomizer.
BTW: Stardusts crack, that's why I hate them. I've broken 8 of them now. What good is a rebuildable atomizer when you have to buy replacement tanks all the time? Stardust is fail IMO. Oh and the totally don't work on KGOs which is another annoyance. There is almost 0 airflow. I do think that the stardust looks the best of the minis but it just doesn't compare.
