Alrighty, so after the 2+ years I've been vaping, I still to this day randomly have those really discouraging days with juice and hardware. I'm talking about the kinds of days that give me those fleeting thoughts like "I should just get a cigalike" or "I should just use Nicorette."

Had one over the 4th .. bummed an analog and after one puff it reminded me why the hassle and what not of a PV is all worth it .. :)

Near Three Years in it Now ..

Really? I have still not found a way to enjoy my Pro Tank as much as my evods or MT3Ss. They seem to be idiot proof for me. Clouds of vapor, decent taste and fiddle free as long as I remember to get the coil (?) tightened correctly. If it is the least bit loose, it doesn't hit correctly and just tastes bad. I have ordered a new pass-through battery for those times that I am stupid enough not to charge one of my batteries the night before. Should be here today. I think I will also clean my Pro Tank, change the coil thingie and replace with an evod 2.2 ohm and put the air flow regulator on it. If that doesn't work, I will offer it on the classifieds in exchange for something I haven't tried yet.

I ordered the Vision Victory (should be delivered today!) that was supposed to be glass and now I have been told that the new shipment came in with plastic! I was looking forward to that as my new go to for harsh juices! Guy at the store said he couldn't tell if mine was the old or new shipment so I will just have to test it by seeing if it has that glass ping when I tap it. With my luck, it will be glass and I will shatter it!

Anyway, my idiot proof Kanger setups have not failed me yet. I carry the 120v charger with me, a replacement coil, juice and a spare battery when I go out. Also, some juices that I am vaping and maybe a spare evod bcc. They all fit in my eGo case with the exception of the charger and that is in my purse.

I'm far from being a vapor vet but I'm into it for 3 months now and have become quite savvy with pro stuff. After 3 weeks into starting to vape I had one of those days followed by a second day following it with a device leaking. I broke down and got a pack of analogs and took 2 hits off one and realized how really disgusting they were compared to vaping. I was blown away since it was 30 yrs. of smoking those same cigs. At that moment I realized; no matter how frustrating a device gets, it is SO worth taking a moment to just relax and try harder to figure out why things aren't working and find a way to get my vape on. I've fiddled with the Protank a bit but found it to have unrelenting issues of leaking and dry hits depending on what liquid or wick/coil is used so, I don't recommend it for frustration relief. The Protank is great if you have time to work out the bugs to customize it for your needs. As for a much more reliable "frustration relief" device; I agree with an earlier comment about the EVOD. The EVOD is VERY dependable as long as you don't fill it with any strong citrus or cinnamon liquid. And, although you don't like dripping (I don't favor it either), a nice dripper is good to use for those couple minutes you need while getting your favorite devices to work again. If you are good at rebuilders, I am thoroughly in love with the GG Ithaka, it is incapable of leaking and it's just sooo easy to rebuild in minutes. If you're not into rebuilding, you really can't go wrong with the EVOD (just fill and go). The EVOD is my "at work" device; as we all know, it's at work when we can't afford to have our stuff not work. If you have to have citrus or cinnamon, then the Protank is definitely the next best thing (the Pyrex tank is awesome). I feel the Protank has too much air flow though. I have the 69 mod from atmomixani.gr which has air flow control that takes control of the Protank perfectly (it makes the Protank better than it is).

I might be just different but .... every now and then I need a real cigarette.

Ecigs are great but they are not analog cigs. But im smoking maybe 1-2 a week vs 1 1/2 pack's a day.

I will admit that I'm in the same boat. Always have been. ;) And like you, I don't even smoke a whole pack in a month, so compared to the pack a day I used to smoke, I don't stress over it.

Just out of curiousity, what nic. level are you folks vaping?

Well folks, it's time to put my foot in my mouth (or... my foot on my keyboard?). Today has been another crap vaping day (a whistling flavorless Protank and a carto in a tank going dry) so even though I told 2 or 3 people in this thread I don't like dripping, I'm going to try it again! Haha. Ugh.

I've got my sights on the Ikenvape 510 SR atties, but does anyone have any other specific recommendations instead of those? I'd want something with 510 threading, non-rebuildable or a million dollars, and above like 2.0 ohm.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...405910-regular-atty-drippers-dying-breed.html
Check out this thread about dripping and the attys they use.

I am new and just learning how to drip. I got the 510 attys from Digitalciggz.com in a 5 pack and they are cheap ($14.95).
Check out the link above also. There are other options talked about. Hope this helps.

I just took a six day trip 2000 miles away and took 1 mod w/ 1 rba (batteries, juice, charger). My confidence in my device was not betrayed. Aside from that, I get excellent flavor, reliable performance, zero leaking . . . . . . every time, all the time. This grab and go device is, after months of disappointment, leakage, flavor loss, and $ spent on other mods and toppers . . . . really nice.

REO/RM2

Yes, had I not found bottom feeders then reos I would not be vaping today. If I had to screw in one more clearomizer, or try to get 1 more carto into a tank I was gonna rip my hair out. BFs are just so durn easy!

Some rambling related to the thread: the latest "solution" I'm considering is the Ego Twist. Every time I have a bad vaping day I wish I had a cigalike, but none that I've used have enough power for me. Even my Volcano Inferno batteries (which are basically 3.7v Egos) leave me wanting more, ever since I discovered my VV mods. So maybe I'll get some Ego Twists and throw some cartos on there with some old school cones, to chuck in my pocket.

And to pdib:

Just out of curiousity, what nic. level are you folks vaping?

Over the years, I've only purchased 16mg and 18mg juices, but I do chain vape. However, you do bring up a good point... I never correlated my lingering need to light up an occasional cigarette with the nic percentage of my juices, so maybe I'll order some 24mg juice to try it out.

With that said, the weird thing is I do sometimes get the too-much-nicotine stomach ache with the 16mg juice, yet the second I step outside I STILL wish I had an analog. So that makes me think it may be psychological and not nic % related. *shrug*

I had a day last week where everything went wrong.
Had to drive 70 miles to pick up a check to bring to insurance/RMV to start a new policy.
$75 unexpected at the RMV so left with under $40 in my pocket instead of over $100 to start July 4 weekend.
No vapemail except Protank coils when I had ordered Evod coils.
Vape gear fiddly.
On no sleep.
Everything seems to happen wrong some days.
Usually on no sleep days.
I don't smoke now. That's not an option.
I just remember that things always change and what's bugging me now will go away.
Every day's different with new challenges.
Have backups for your backups and options for your options.

It seems like a lot of you that are experiencing problems are mostly using cartos. That may be the bigger problem you're all having. Again, the EVOD on a nice simple eGo Twist is extremely dependable. I don't even feel the need for a back-up with the EVOD. On occasion I'll carry a second EVOD tank with me only to have a second flavor to switch to. I also have to express further recommendation to get more involved with rebuildable devices. When you get good at rebuilding your own stuff, you get a much better appreciation for how different juices wick and how different coils vape. Once you get those factors understood, you NEVER have those bad days because you have full control of how your devices will work. I am like a lot of you when it comes to the dislike of the burning feeling of top coils so when I use a device like my AGA t2, I use a long drip tip and it simulates the same comfort of a bottom coil. With the Genesis type devices, I use 200x200 ss mesh for a solid wick which makes it NEVER dry hit. I also use ribbon kanthal instead of standard round wire; the ribbon gives more surface which produces much better vape. The AGA t2 is also very cheap and comes with Pyrex glass tank. If you have money to spend, again, I HIGHLY recommend getting the GG Ithaka. The Ithaka uses silica wick and res/no-res coil wire. Don't be afraid of the res/no-res wire, ready made wires are easy to find on sites like Clouds of Vapor. Imeo from Golden Greek has made the Ithaka EXTEMELY easy to rebuild. As for drippers; I am quite happy with my Phoenix V3 rebuildable atomizer. the Phoenix v3 is also very cheap like the AGA t2 and VERY easy to rebuild (it takes like 1min to rebuild, ready to use). Even though the AGA 2t and the Phoenix v3 are cheap; they are both very well made and will last you a lifetime. Rebuilding is the ultimate way to go! Vape on! :vapor:

I crave an analog now and then. Some days it is 3-4 times. Sometimes it is days between craves. Although I didn't force myself to stop smoking when I started vaping, it was just natural to vape when I ran out of cigs after the first week. Now, this far into it, I am exercising the old "one day at a time" discipline and it is working! I think of how bad I will smell, I remember how easy it was to start smoking again during past quit attempts, and I think of all the money I have put into vaping. To start smoking again would just be financially stupid, not to mention physically!!!! I remember previous quits: the crave will go away in a minute or two, even if I don't vape or smoke. Every crave I resist makes me stronger for resisting the next crave. I really LIKE vaping. I really DON'T like smoking. Never cave to the crave! :stepping of soapbox now: :vapor:

I get discourage with the clutter I make. And sometimes, just like with anything I guess I get tired of vaping. Vaping Oakes up more of my time and attention than smoking ever did and I resent that sometimes. I do love when I'm in a chain vaping mood I can do so without all the negative effects and awful taste so it's very worth it. I don't enjoy vaping in public but smoking in public had a weird thing attached to it to. I vape what I make so sometimes I make some things that aren't so great. And after a year I don't think I'll ever settle down to a all day vape. The thought never occurred to me with cigs. Just smoke the next one. All the same. With options I have to think about it more. Time and space in the head robbing

I went the route of rebuildables for this specific reason. Cartos and clearos required to much constant maintenance. My Agas run for a month or more before I rebuild them or do ... anything... except filling juice once a day. Could probably go longer, but I end up rebuilding them anyways to thoroughly clean them out.

Trade-off is that you have to spend a fair amount of time learning to set them up. It's not for everyone, but anyone can do it if they do their research on safety issues and apply patience. My thoughts was that I could spend time learning to set up something durable, once, or I could keep having to fiddle with gear when I least expected/wanted to do so.

Not saying everyone should swap. Lots of people seem more than happy with their cartos and clearos... and is most likely more skilled than me in keeping them functional.

I used to carry several devices, but now I trust my setups enough to only bring one when I leave the house. Plus a spare battery or two depending on plans.

... just a different perspective.

Edit: I don't consider myself a vet!

Yeah I use 12-24mg nic but mostly 18mg now. Im going into month 2 with vaping.

My wanting a cigarette has nothing to do with my nic strength. Like others I love smoking but I hate the smell of analogs even as a pack a day person.
