The Coilmaster has landed. Very nicely packaged, packaged well for shipping also from MVS. It seems very sturdy, and everything is working well. I checked a couple builds to see how it reads those builds compared to the ohm checkers I have, and it reads a little differently. Of course the ohm checkers I have vary from one to the other, so these things are just somewhat accurate anyway. One build for instance reads 3.0Ω on a Provari, 2.90 on an ohm checker, and 2.86 on the CM.
I have seen somewhere, don't remember where now, that when you fire the build, you can see it ramp up, then cool down, this doesn't do that.
It is heavy enough, and with the rubber feet it doesn't move around easily, that is a plus. So for about $35.00 shipped, I'm happy with it. :)

There are two positions on the switch, one way checks ohms, the other way allows you to fire the coil. At least that's the way I've seen it in reviews?

Right. The one I received is apparently a different version than the ones I have seen in reviews. The display is different. It displays only numbers. The ones I have seen have a pipe symbol in the display also, mine does not.

If I'm not mistaken, the pipe symbol was on the older version. Mine don't have it either. :)

Does it have a three position switch or just on and off? I just can't believe they'd change it mid stream like that, it was such a cool product.

There's on for ohm reader (flip switch toward back), off (center), and on and push a button to fire the coil (flip switch toward front).

Apparently then the ability to watch your build ramp up, and cool off went away on the newer versions. Not a big deal, unless you'd like to see it while testing your build, and compare with other builds.
Do you have the switch in the third position and are you pressing the fire button on the top of the unit? The switch has to be on and you have to push the button to pulse the coil. That's my whole reason for wanting one.
