All righty, the Coilmaster 521 Tab is due to arrive later today. Can't wait to check this thing out.
The Coilmaster has landed. Very nicely packaged, packaged well for shipping also from MVS. It seems very sturdy, and everything is working well. I checked a couple builds to see how it reads those builds compared to the ohm checkers I have, and it reads a little differently. Of course the ohm checkers I have vary from one to the other, so these things are just somewhat accurate anyway. One build for instance reads 3.0Ω on a Provari, 2.90 on an ohm checker, and 2.86 on the CM.
I have seen somewhere, don't remember where now, that when you fire the build, you can see it ramp up, then cool down, this doesn't do that.
It is heavy enough, and with the rubber feet it doesn't move around easily, that is a plus. So for about $35.00 shipped, I'm happy with it.![]()
Well that sucks!Right. The one I received is apparently a different version than the ones I have seen in reviews. The display is different. It displays only numbers. The ones I have seen have a pipe symbol in the display also, mine does not.
Then something isn't right with it! I'll be interested to hear what the vendor is saying.Three positions.

Does it have a three position switch or just on and off? I just can't believe they'd change it mid stream like that, it was such a cool product.
Do you have the switch in the third position and are you pressing the fire button on the top of the unit? The switch has to be on and you have to push the button to pulse the coil. That's my whole reason for wanting one.Apparently then the ability to watch your build ramp up, and cool off went away on the newer versions. Not a big deal, unless you'd like to see it while testing your build, and compare with other builds.
Ok, next stupid question, have you tired a known good coil on it?Yup, switch in the fire position, and press the button. If you are wanting to see the ramp up, this doesn't do it. Possibly the geekvapes one will, I dunno, might wan to check with someone on that.
It doesn't, but this one is supposed to, that's why it's more expensive! That's a deal breaker for me!Yep, I tried several that I'm currently using. Just ran thru a review on the geekvape 521, doesn't look like it does the ramp up thing either.
