I have noticed that the last couple packs of non-Nautilus BVC I bought don't seem to last as long, and flavor seems a bit different. Though I ordered them the beginning of December. I'll have to take one apart and check the wick.

Edit- They're not cotton. I guess it's just the usual Chinese quality control.

Wow, was wondering if these companies were ever going to switch over.

I completely understand why they went with Silica so long. Silica lasts the longest, and cotton allows you to chain vape and kill your coil even faster.

$20 for a 5 pack though? That's $4 a coil. Yikes

Eh, the way I look at that $20 outlay is that it's a one-time core purchase. I'm really itching to get my hands on an OCC. As soon as my local gets the Subtank mini, it will be mine.

So is this true for all 3 (Standard BVC, Nautilus BVC, Atlantis BVC)?
The Standard BVC, and the Nautilus BVC do NOT have the extra cotton layer next to the wire.

Only the Atlantis BVC has the extra layer of cotton next to the wire.

As for Aspire going all cotton... They are looking into it. Most likely to see how long they last, flavor, cost, if they have to increase or decrease the outer coil diameter, how tight to wrap the cotton, and who knows what else. You know, the typical R&D when you make a dramatic change in your product line.

You can get them for $15.99/5 pack at World of Vape. That's only $3.19 each... I have also successfully re-wicked the stock heads and coils, you just have to be very careful removing the coils, so save all your burnt out coils and send them to me!

Thanks for clarifying that the entire wick wouldn't be cotton. When I was speaking of the $4 coil cost, it should have been assumed that I was referring to the cost of replacing them for a person that doesn't rebuild. If a person knows how to rebuild coils, they would typically be better off buying an RBA.

I was referring to the people that don't rebuild, therefore have to deal with the harshness and crappy wicking of stock silica heads. If it was all cotton wick, it would be good for a friend of mine that doesn't intend on rebuilding, and he's been vaping longer than I have. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do aspire coils nor vertical coils.

If you're going to rebuild them of course the cost wouldn't really matter. You'll get your money's worth after the first rebuild.

I actually think your post is a little misleading at this point. I went back to the Aspire link someone posted, and it looks like it notes "organic cotton" twice in terms of the wick.

There is silica, but it's in the form of ceramic paper. to feed the cotton wick. So the wick actually is cotton, but if you are concerned about the possible health issues some people claim with silica, I guess that still exists.

Sorry, I'm not extremely familiar Aspire products, as I've never had one. Been a Kanger guy for my clearos.

Just to clarify:
The Atlantis coils are from inside to out: Wire, Cotton, Ceramic Paper, Cotton.
The Nautilus coils are from inside to out: Wire, Ceramic Paper, Cotton.

Its not rocket science on how long they last, how they taste, and cost lol.... I think its more so that they would be admitting they ....ed up by using an extremely suspicious material to wick their devices, which then translates to customers who don't know about this material seeing the new coils being labeled NEW ORGANIC COTTON HEALTHY!! thinking why would they switch the material?
Customer: "Ohhh hey lets look online about what this material is"
Customer: "Hmm... they used ceramic fiber paper? Hmmmm whats ceramic fiber paper?"
Customer: "Lets Google that"
Customer: "...! I've been huffing on this ....?!!?"
Customer: "Yea I will not trust this company again...."

...and there's more where these came from.

I WILL RE-WICK ALL MY ASPIRE ATLANTIS COILS UNTIL ASPIRE RECTIFIES THIS DANGER!
