I have started at 36mg and now after 2 years I'm mostly at 0mg anyway I have almost the same throat hit at 0 as on 36 :D
would like to know how you manage that. i get no TH at 0. i mean it's fine. need it more for the hand to mouth thing, more than anything else. but if i could tweak a TH into the equation it would be nice.

like this article. http://whyquit.com/whyquit/a_symptoms.html very informative, but again no relation to withdrawal with e-cigs. 47 hours in. surprisingly calm and cool. if i read correctly after 72 hours, the worst of the nic addiction is over. i can definitely vape with 0 nic. despite the missing throat hit the hand mouth deal is still being fed. as i never planned to quit with e-cigs. (only tried a tank to be polite). this development is a happy yet unexpected result. originally thought 6 months to 0 nic. i feel confident this will be successful, since miraculously my brain is on the same page still. :vapor::toast:

Hi all veterans! Im a newbie here! Have got to clarify first that im not a smoker, but i joined ECF as im interested to get an e-cig for my boyfriend to help him quit smoking. I read that quite a number of you still vape though at 0% nic. So does that mean that one might be addicted to the act of smoking, rather than just the nicotine? Sorry if its a noob qn, cause i dun smoke. =x

I swap between 0 and 6 mg. HHV also makes me 3 mg, and all my DIY is also 0 mg... I was always addicted to the actions more than the nicotine. Smoking an analog for the actions seemed ......ed (but couldn't stop nonetheless) since I was also taking in 4K+ chemicals so vaping is definitely an improvement!

welcome. three addictions to overcome here. 1 tobacco. the real bad one, and the most difficult to get over. 2 nicotine. because we are all taught that from the time we were kids. 3 hand to mouth syndrome. as i'm finding out first hand. once tobacco is gone the other two can be managed easily. your BF needs 1 month of detox from the cigs. after that he can decide to lower his dosage, or continue. really nice of you to take the initiative to come on here, but he is the one who needs to be surfing here. show him the site and you can both take the journey together.

Probably most smokers are addicted to the act and the nicotine ... how much for each varies by person.

I was trying to go down to 6 - 12 mg right away (after starting around 24 mg/ml) ... started vaping seriously around the Xmas holidays ... found myself buying the random package of analogs. I've gone back up to 12 -18 mg/ml and that's plenty now ... very few cravings. I've bought and smoked 4 packs in 2 months (and bummed ten loosies) ... I consider this huge progress.

I hope to quit altogether though I suspect I'll vape 0 mg/ml for some time before hopefully one day it'll just seem stupid and I'll stop!

Thanks for the explanation! Really helpful. Now i know a bit more abt smoking and why its tough to quit. Haha. Im thinking of getting one for his bday so dun need him to know so much yet i guess. But when he starts using it, i'll get him here to learn more! When u mentioned abt 1 month detox from cig, what do you mean? So vape e-cig with nic first before trying 0%? He is trying to quit now, smoking less than 5 sticks a day.

it takes 3 to 4 weeks to rid your body of the 4000+ toxic chemicals. using juice with nicotine helps with the main addiction. (tobacco).

65 hours. so the way i have been ...... i'm going to say my blood is clear of any nicotine. 7 hours to 72 hour mark. using the e-cig definitely helped with the withdrawal, and hand to mouth action. i also notice starting day 2, i pick up the PV a lot less. not once did i ever have an urge to smoke a cig. going to vape 0 nic exclusively from now on. i will wait at least 1 month before i decide to put the PV down or not. and keep u guys updated on any symptoms i get.:2cool:

Slowly ween, that is the plan - but I will continue to vape. The hand to mouth thing, plus I just enjoy the "chill-axin" of it all. The problem (atleast for now)...is that I loves me some nicotine!! Starting to DIY, so hopefully just taking it out in very small increments will make it to where I almost don't notice it.
