What the title says, I get this feeling when im vaping in public that people think Im smoking a {Other Stuff} for some reason.

No, not at all. Who cares what strangers think as long as your pants are on in public.
Only on campus when everyone else I may spot vaping is a hipster-swag-mesh blatantly blowing the biggest cloud they can for anyone who will watch... i don't wanna be categorized like that
in fact, on break from my 4 hour class, i turned a few corners and found a nice hideaway to freely enjoy my vape. Unknowingly, i ended up sitting with the couple of cig smokers in the class. i still have this mindset.
Not at all. People look at you out of curiosity because most aren't familiar with
what they think is a strange looking cigarette. I've turned several strangers on to vaping
because they weren't afraid to indulge their curiosity. Don't assume they're looking at you negatively
they just don't know. Tell them.

My friend, and my gf both won't vape in public. But i do, I don't care.. Its strange though cause we are treated worse than smokers. I get asked all the time why I do it. I say cause I recently quit smoking.. So they say Oh when are you quitting that.. And I'm like umm.... One mountain at a time.
I don't really give a .... what people think about me, so no, not embarassed at all.
When I first carried a mod out in public, especially at work, it felt a bit odd. Cig-a-likes don't get the stares and questions that a mod gets, so I suppose at the very beginning it was strange because it was so different. I'm not one to worry about what others think or say, but admit that I did feel something like the OP is describing - not embarrassment really, just felt like a curiosity. It passed quickly and now I don't give it a second thought.

no issue for me I just be nice and try not to blow big clouds near people in public. other then at work as I still sit outside with the cig smokers but they all like it and allways tell me it smells good.
I just wear a clown nose and a pink tutu when I go out, nobody even seems to notice the APV.

I'm an executive working downtown and when I walk around slamming my mods I would not want someone in my business or a client to see me pulling on a large copper metal tube exhaling cumulus nimbus clouds.
I did back when I started, but part of that is 3 years ago when I started you hardly seen other vapers out in public,
I'm pretty handsome so I'm used to people staring, but if I catch someone I give 'em my best Deniro from Taxi Driver:

Then I pull an extra MOD out of my sleeve and ask then if they want to try Vaping.

I was embarrassed to be a smoker and hid it from most people (colleagues, clients, acquaintances, etc.). Vaping is similar in that if people see me vaping, they'll pretty much know that I used to smoke (which I'm still embarrassed about). So, I pretty much just vape at home or in my car (and even in my car, if I'm driving around my town, I stealth vape). I don't care if strangers see me vaping, I don't want colleagues, clients and acquaintances to see me vaping.
