I hate the terms "vape" and "vaping" as well. I won't link the video, but during a certain review that I watched recently, this guy who looked like an extreme MMA fighter overused the terminology so much that it really put me off and continues to make me selectively careful when I discuss the activity to an outsider.
The video came complete with modern pop-metal theme music and super EXTREME! close-ups of him using the device which really annoyed me. He would take a drag, then look at the device before looking back at the camera to say, "Oh yeah, that's some good vape right there", "I love vaping this thing", "this thing has a lot of vape", "that's some really good vape", etc., etc., ad nauseam.
It was one of those instances where you end up feeling embarrassed for the person you're watching because of their obvious inability to realize how ridiculous they look and sound. Only white suburban gangsters--or hell--gangsters of any race, creed, or location earn more sympathy.
Edit: Ack! Forgot to mention, I prefer the terms "e-smoking" and "e-cig", as overdone as the whole "e" prefixing is. Though it capitalizes on the modern technological connotation, as "email" does versus just "mail", so it's a better intellectual fit for me, trite though it may be.
