I have had sob as well off and on.

Based on my experience it appears to be related to me trying to smoke the ecig 24-7.

As soon as I tone it down to a reasonable level it goes away.

I also read a study about people in bands who were constantly exposed to the smoke in smoke machines (PG makes the smoke) which indicated they had reduced lung function.

Considering smoking a e-cig is akin to standing in front of the smoke machine and deeply inhaling 25 times a day, it does not seem unreasonable some of us are getting shortness of breath.

But, reduced lung function and sob i can deal with. Lung cancer I cannot.

I gotta say that my shortness of breath has improved when I stopped vaping non-stop whenever I have the chance. And I noticed something else, and sadly I gotta say it: when I vape my Atomic Cinnacide mixture, I have more difficulty with this than when I don't vape it at all for several weeks. I don't know why this is, but the AC gives me the most satisfaction for a deep, full lung feeling when I vape it on my GLV 5Volt, and I enjoy it a lot. But I hadn't had any for a few weeks, just forgot really. Then had more tonight, and the sob returned. I hope it doesn't last cause I really really really like the flavor. Maybe I gotta cut it down more?

I'd say its the flavor, I can't use AC because it would make my mom die from an allergic reaction, but I also wouldn't want to inhale a Cinnamon flavor anyways. I am started to change to simpler 0 nic flavors and keep some 11mg nicotine menthol around. I'm ready to totally ween myself of nicotine and just vape the flavors. Electronic Cigarettes are EXTREMELY better for you then analogs, but when it comes down to it human lungs aren't made to be inhaling chemicals.

This year is the worst in recorded history for pollen and mold production. By a huge amount ,never like this before, many people who have never had an allergy problem in their lives are having problems this year.
I am willing to bet that a lot of this is causing problems for anyone sob right now,

Agreed, I was a little concerned at first until I started talking to co-workers who have been experiencing extreme SOB as well, and they are not smokers or vapers... This allergy season, at least ont he West Coast due to cool temps and tons of moisture has been brutal. ANd my SOB is still improved from when I was smoking.

Well, I am hoping that it isn't the flavoring, but me "inhaling deeper" or something to that effect, since I enjoy it so much with this flavor. Make sense? I don't want to sound like I'm bashing this flavor, so many people enjoy it so much, me included. Maybe I'm taking bigger and deeper hits with this flavor and it's causing a problem. I don't know .

What really concerned me one time was a few friends I know who bought ecigs at their mall. They didnt quit smoking fully, but used the ecig in places where they weren't allowed to smoke, like in a restaurant or at work etc. And a few of them told me they stopped using it because they were getting shortness of breath.

Everybody keeps talking about the liqid being the problem, but has anybody having these issues cecked their atomizers. The reason I ask is that I was just looking at the mod forum, and one of the topics is how to fix your atomizers. Well they have pictures of the dead atty. It clearly shows all the melted plastic inside. Now I know for a fact that breathing in plastic fumes can cause all sorts of problems, including many if not all of the symptomsthat have been mentioned. I have also noticed my cartridges starting to melt after some time. I stopped using them and now drip only but dont know how to get around the atomizer problem. Just something to think about. Does anybody know of any manufacturers that dont use any plastic in their attys

VG is what did me in too.
I think this may be the culprit of my shortness of breath as well. I switched to vaping almost all VG juices, less one carto each day of a PG version. And my breathing is worse than ever, and getting worse every day. I thought the VG would help my acne clear up, and it might, but being unable to get a full breath and having to stop and rest whenever I walk any distance is ridiculous. I made an appointment with a dermatologist in a few weeks, so I may have to just tough out the skin problems and give up the 100% VG juices for now. I once thought it was the Atomic Cinnacide flavor that was causing it, but now I think it may be due to the AC being the first juice I ever used that was a combo of PG80%/VG20%. Everything else I had used was all PG or PG that I had added a few drops of VG to for vapor production. I had tried some Smilin' Special Menthol in VG and Menthol in VG, but didn't really like them at the time as much as the PG, so I didn't use them much.

This is a toughie... it's a product that in most cases improves lung function so what could be going on?
hmmmmm....

ok... got it,

Here is your answer.

Occam's razor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

No offense to any of the posters and please if you think there is any sort of problem your first reaction should be to go to the doctor and get yourself checked out. buuuuuuuut...

Out of 205 views for this topic it is inevitable that a certain percentage will be hypochondriacs.

Elementary my dear Watson.

hmmmm, I never know whether or not to just shut up and let people think what they want or try to provide some real insight even though most times people don't really want the real insight.

This was probably one of those times i should just stay quiet.

Anyway once again i have to stress, if you think there is the slightest problem then please go get yourself checked out by a professional.

The last thing this industry needs is for one of you folks to drop dead.

I get what your saying here. No offense taken.

When I first started vaping in July my breathing seemed to be really improving and quickly. As time went on and the more liquids I tried it started getting worse, almost like I never quit moking. Earlier this week it seemed much better until I tried some mostly pg juice, went right back to tight chest, hard to breath. I do recall the cheap stuff from the kiosk was so thick, had to be mostly vg now that I've learned a little more about juices.

So I think I'll def be going to a mostly if not all vg juices. I didn't really dawn on me till I started looking at the mix ratios on the stuff I have been using this week when I started to feel crappy were mostly pg, I don't think the nic levels have affected me at all.
