Anyone else have trouble with their Hippo?

Let me start by saying I love the way it "finishes" the end of the Provari for my rba's. However, it seems that only a handful of my toppers, specifically the ones with adjustable center pins, work on the stupid thing. My Russian 91 is fine, and my KFL Clone is fine, however the Aspire BDC's (510 connection), Novas, Fogger V2 rba, some misc cartotanks, and my IGO-W RBD will not work on the hippo, PV just reads "OP" when I try to check the atty ohms. I know the center pins aren't making contact but it doesn't seem like I can do anything to make them work with the hippo. I like the hippo's airflow control with the mods that don't work, in case anyone is wondering why I'm trying to use it with smaller clearos and carto tanks. If I remove the hippo and put the topper directly on my Mini, they work fine. I did buy the authentic hippo from vaperev, just not sure why the darn thing only works with like 2 of my toppers Anyone else have this type of trouble?

The center pin in the hippo is adjustable. Unscrew it a little and it will make contact with all the other toppers.

My center pin doesn't seem to be adjustable. I can push it right out of the bottom of the hippo, but it doesn't stay in any specific spot. The bigger issue appears to be the center pin on my Mini, at least relative to the new Aspire BDC mini nova tank I'm trying to use. I was able to adjust the center pin on the tank itself a little and it is now firing without the hippo (I thought it was working before but it was not, even without the hippo). But if I put the hippo on, it doesn't make a connection. It's not the end of the world by any means, just seems odd that a $40 piece of metal doesn't work on several things. I wonder if they changed the design maybe? I just got it late last week so it's fairly recently purchased.

If we have the same version, This piece can come out but see than tiny brass pin in the center. Use a small flat head screwdriver to turn it and you can adjust that center pin to make contact with any topper.

Yep, that inside portion does slide easily in and out of the larger, outer ring. However the brass piece pushes in and out, no threads to speak of. I did a little test and left the brass center pin in the hippo as far forward as possible. As I screwed a topper onto it (but not on the ProVari) I could see the pin come out the other side so I can be reasonably confident the topper is contacting the brass pin in the hippo just fine, it's just that the bottom of the pin in the hippo doesn't always contact the pin in the ProVari. I hope that makes sense. I really appreciate the effort and the pic, darkgear!

Then ours are different. My center pin does not move or come out. It is threaded into the back. Sorry, I can't help.

EDIT: I see you are having issues with the bottom not connecting... I have never heard of this before. Contact Atmistique to see what they say.. It sounds to me that you have a V1.. Not the V2. Pics of yours would be helpful.

I figured out the problem. PEBKAC, or at least the vaping equivalent to it. (PEBKAC = Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair for the uninitiated). So I was trying to do all of my adjustments with the main hippo center section off the ProVari. I got frustrated and wrapped a few paper towels around it and tightened it just a hair more onto my provari body with a wrench. I didn't mess anything up in the process either So then I took a screwdriver and what do you know... the center section raised up as I unscrewed it. Every topper works now. Thanks for the support everyone, I was pretty sure Atmizoo wouldn't let a bad one by since these are basically handmade, but you never know. I'll gladly take the heat of being the issue as opposed to blaming the tool

My hippo is a real jerk when you get him drunk. Other than that, no trouble at all. Getting him out of the ice maker, that's a whole different story.

Okay, looking suggestions and reccomendations.....I had noted In other threads that I had issues with the ikenvape cartos screwing into the hippo, it would bind up as if threading was mismatched, so my solution was to not use the combination together. I just received my KFL+ and its a no go either, only a couple turns into the hippo v2 and it binds up!! Is the air control feature of the hippo necessary with the KFL and is there a solution other than not using the hippo?? I actually like to just use the hippo as a ring if nothing else especially with what it cost!! I cant remember if it is the Sophia or the KFL+ that the hippo v2 is a big plus to have!?! Please chime in!

I would try to contact the supplier, I have 2 of the v2's and everything screws onto them, you most likely got a bad one, I don't use cartos though. I have 2 KFL's and both of them are on my hippo's, I guess I just like the way they look.

+1 for what kas said. I have a variety of each Smok, Boge and IKV cartos. When these threads started popping up and I tried all the different ones I have and all of them screwed into the hippo and made contact(checked using a meter). Might be a bad batch of Hippo's
