I was going to go with the P226 until the last time I stopped to check out the wares at the sporting goods shop. They didn't have much for Sigs but they did have a P229 in 9mm in stock. 3 seconds in my hand & I was in love. I've never been a dedicated fan of any brand before - in fact I only have 2 from the same manufacturer, my LCP & aught 6 - but I have a feeling that's going to change when I pull the financial trigger on the 229.

My S&W mod 5906 is currently my favorite, it's just too heavy for a daily carry - that's a ton of SS. 9mm is my favorite caliber to shoot because of that one, but .40SW is one of the few cals I've never fired. I like .45 but the extra capacity in .40 sounds nice for a carry gun. I've heard it's pretty snappy though. Can't imagine much more than a .380 coming out of my LCP - it's a nice CCW, but there's no weight to it & barely a grip even with the extension.

It has a bit more snap than a 45.. but if you can manage it.. its lots of fun. Probably shot couple thousand on that p229. :)

Have you tried a Hogue grip on the LCP? It adds a little bit of width to the grip but it makes it feel so much better in the hand and helps to tame the little gun down quite a bit while shooting it as well.

That doesn't sound bad at all. I'm not a real big guy - 6'0", 160-170ish (I'm single, why would I own a scale ;) ) - but .45 is more than manageable. I just prefer the 9mm for it's response/feel... maybe that's just the 5906. It's just a fun cal to throw down range. Can't wait to try the .40 out.

I looked at them, but I haven't tried one out yet. I might have to give it a whirl. My favorite part about the LCP is it's size. It doesn't matter what you're wearing or what season it is, you don't have to even think about printing & it's not even noticeable for IWB carry unlike a lot of others that give you that hot spot. I don't think I'd ever sell it, but especially for winter months something a bit bigger would be nice. I know there's also an after market extension that is supposedly long enough to get your pinky on the grip too. Any experience with those?

It doesn't print with the Hogue grip even pocket carrying it. My friend(it's his gun, I just shoot it when we go to the range) was a little worried about that too. He has the pinky extension on one of his mags and it helps a little bit but not that much. I am a little biased though; I prefer the subcompact/pocket guns without a pinky extension.

The only exception was my G29. Shooting full house 10mm loads out of a subcompact without a pinky extension was not a pleasant experience with that gun.

If you think waiting for vape mail is bad.....try waiting for the rest of this to hit the mailbox!

Fellow gun lover here. Anything that goes bang. The family collection "my dad and myself" range from original (except the grips someone changed them out for ivory sometime in it's past) 1874 Colt single action army in 44-40 to ak, sks, ar. And several in between. I actually had the colt gone thru and appraised for my dad 2 Christmas's ago and then 3 generations of my family shot it. Against my suggestion not to. But once the first round went thru it I had to get behind it.:) Shot like a dream. Here's a few pics just realized its been a while since I updated my gun photos need to do that. I like to keep photo record just in case something were to happen. The Wilson is not mine, I wish it was. Not something I can afford rite now but if I could I would own as many as possible. I have shot 2 different Wilson's hands down the finest hand gun I have ever shot.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about the grip effecting it's concealability, it's just one of the things I really like about that model. I kind of had that feeling about the pinky extension, hence being hesitant to spend some cash on one. I'm going to give the Hogue a try. The more I think about it that little extra width might be all it needs.

While I'm not typically a Glock person (nothing against them, I've shot a few & they just weren't my thing), that 10mm is pretty sharp.

Hrm, I can see we need some bolt gun and lever gun representation here :)

For the bolt gun, may I present the CZ 550 in 375 H&H Magnum:

Ah hell, I bet I got you beat.

I ordered a custom engraved lower from Shadow Ops Weaponry last January- still waiting for the damn thing. In those 11 months, I have purchased every part. It's annoying to have every part except that main piece. Oh well. Still waiting it out.

Screw that...if I were u, I'd already have a separate lower on that build and be blasting away waiting on the custom piece. You sir, are more patient than I by a long shot

I agree!

My go-to hunting gun. Marlin 336. Good ole' dirty-30 gets her done every time here in Georgia...

A couple old Winchesters. Top is a family heirloom. '94 Winchester chambered in .38-55 manufactured in 1910. Bottom is a Buffalo Bill Commemorative Edition '94 Winchester manufactured in 1968.

My old hunting rig. I could never get used to the side mount scope with the top eject on the '94 so I got the Marlin to replace it.

Remington 700 SPS Varmint chambered in .223. My Coyote killer.

Winchester Model 70 chambered in .270 Winchester Short Mag. I don't really have any practical use for this here in Georgia for anything other than punching paper at 500+ yards.

That's nice! I've always been intrigued by the CZ rifles but they are hard to find around here for some reason. I want to pick up an aught-six sometime in the near future. I might have to just give in and order a CZ online and get it shipped to my FFL.

Can't wait for the lever gun pics! I love me some lever guns. :)

LOL... Well, since I already have one custom AR, I'm in no real hurry. I figure spending money on another lower would be a waste of money because I would then swap everything over to the Shadow Ops one when I get it.
