me and my wife passed our CHL class/test last month. That gun and color is exactly what my wife says she wants for her CC.

Thats actually the raspberry one. The Pink one is not so pink. more like a very light carnation. Its perfect for ccw. Not too heavy fully loaded and very smooth edges to keep from getting snagged on anything. And congrats on you 2 getting ur carry licenses.

sorry to drag up an older post but I was wondering how this thing shoots? I have been drooling over them for a while, but the whole "underneath the flash its still just a Russian AK" makes me question the accuracy

Have you shot an AK? i was able to lift groundhogs out of their holes at 500 yards. Dunno how much more accurate you want but thats pretty dam good in my book.

Yes, the raspberry is the one my wife wants. She does not like pink guns at all. But the raspberry she thinks is cool. Funny part was when she showed me that gun, I said to her "Remember, this is for CONCEALED carry- key word CONCEALED. Meaning no one will see it". Her reply "Yeah, but I will see it" LOL

no I haven't shot an AK, but I am very familiar with the 54r cartridge that one is chambered in (love that thing, almost as cheap as a 22 and much more fun to shoot). I have a mosin and an sks.
Groundhog at 500 yard is right around 1MOA isn't it? Around here I don't get shots that long, 300 yard is a looong shot. That sounds well within my needs. I just keep hearing people trash AK as inaccurate, I've heard 2-3MOA is a real good AK in perfect conditions. Hell my sks barely does 2moa from a bench. It is a norinco though...

Kettleman City is great for long shots. A couple hrs away but lots of open flat space. Yes there was a good amount of drop but nothing a good scope cant compensate for. As with any rifle, there are fanboys and haters alike. you just have to take everything with a grain of salt and make your own conclusions. I used to hate 1911's and now i love them. Dont know why but i did/do.

Here's my small (very small) collection, just started not long ago. Ruger SR9c, and a S&W Bodyguard .380...

I love them both, they've both been 100% reliable with no problems of any kinds. The SR9c has a great trigger and shoots awesome, very accurate.

Not to nit pick but I like how the OP starts a thread about "Modern Firearms" and talks about how he likes the AK which is a 60 year old design. Even the AR is over 50 years old. Don't get me wrong, I like to stick with proven platforms since I have yet to find anything in recent times that I would be willing to bet my life on.

FWIW:
Here is one of my latest AK builds - 1969 Romy

Modern compared to a Springfield

Nice build

I agree if your talking about the 1903 but it is a timeless design and well built just like the 1911 and Garand.
If I had to make a choice between a New Glock and a surplus 1911, 1911 wins hands down. But that is me :D
(Then again I would take a Philippino 1911 over a Glock.)

Having said that, let me get my fire suit on.

The Garand is up there on my 'someday' list.

Back to modern firearms, how do you feel about pre-16th century hand cannons? :D

Glock has a lot of fans out there, but I have no plans on acquiring one. My next few pistols will most definitely be Sigs, unless a Python happens to fall magically into my lap. I don't judge on what someone else likes, though. Glocks, Provaris, whatever. It seems like every hobby has a brand or 3 out there that people like to brag, troll or complain about. I've got better things to do than play those games. Like think about cheese. Mmm... cheese. :D
