Yeah Littleton area, just moved out here a little while ago. Your username stuck out because I think we traded some pistols once upon a time :D. Small internet world lol.

I lived in Littleton for awhile, as a kid, (born in Aurora). Then I moved to FL, joined the USAF, moved all over the country, etc.

I've been back in CO for several years now. I'm a bit southwest of you guys, ~40 miles from C Springs.

Hey 7sixtwo, are you going to try making the meet and greet tomorrow at Old Chicago? Where do you live now?

More gun porn:

That's my Colt, before it got the custom treatment.

Now I really like the front hand guard on that AR (so sharp bumpy nubs). But what is that second flash suppressor looking thingie behind the flash suppressor? Flashlight or something? Very nice looking guns. HOLY CRAP....I just looked up the price on the EOTech holo sights....WOW. Don't think I will be asking for one of those anytime soon.

Yeah, that's almost certainly a flashlight. That AR looks to be a SBR. Very cool. I don't own any NFA firearms myself, because I ain't registering chit with the damned Feds.

To each his own, though.

Yeah, yeah, keep it in check, AR fanbois. :D

Speaking for myself, ARs just have no damn soul when compared to AKs. They're put together like Legos, no real gunsmithing involved. Just... generic, and jam-prone.

You get what you pay for in the AR world. Some are crap and some are a work of art how they are put together. Im on my third and other than steel case ammo I havent had any feeding or jamming issues!

Well, I was gonna say buying American firearms was my AR reasoning, but you have already seen my Berretta pics...haha.:oops: Plus I have an SKS too (milled not stamped). But the AKs are sweet guns, just not my thing. Now if I ever had a chance to buy a Calico again, I am all over that. I probably have enough "unregistered" stuff and "stuff" for said unregistered stuff to survive the zombie apocalypse. But I can see a new AR finding a home here soon, even if "the establishment" has to know about it. But hey, I could have sold it if anyone comes looking for it since there is no transfer paperwork for personal sales.

The inability to reliably cycle steel cased ammo is a major malfunction, imo.

If the rifle won't eat steel cased ammo, it becomes a lot more expensive to train with it.. not to mention the fact that if you ever had to scrounge for rounds, you might not be able to find the particular brand of brass that the rifle "likes".

Unsat all around. Then again, the very concept of direct impingement is flawed. You don't chit where you eat. This applies to rifle design as well.

No paperwork involved in a transfer of NFA firearms, (such as SBR's, suppressors, etc), down in GA? That's news to me.

I didn't say anything about the class three toys. Just the AR I can buy at a local Walmart do not require any transfer for a personal sale.

Ah, well I guess I misunderstood, as we started off talking about Birddog's pea-shooter, which definitely would.

I've toyed with the idea of picking up an AR for chits n' giggles, but I'd want a Colt 6920 or better, and they still cost way too much... not to mention the inflated price of 5.56 ammo. Also, I don't own any AR mags, and until the Sheriffs' Association lawsuit, (and other challenges), undo the inane, ridiculous new laws affecting standard magazines in CO, I can't get proper ones.
