Anyone else not care much for the "throat hit"?

I prefer my vapes to be smooth and mellow with lots of vapor but not much throat hit. Yes I was a 30+ year smoker who converted to vaping a couple of months ago, but I do not care for the throat hit that many seem to try and get more of.

Am I abbie normal?

BTW I do enjoy vaping and still do vape tobacco flavor. To reduce the throat hit on that I buy high nic tobacco juice and blend in some VG to reduce the nic level down to 12mg and make the vape smoother. The Clayton and Buck naked juice works well for this, they wind up tasting good and vaping like a lite cig.

I hate the throat hit but love the content of 12 mg nic. Max vg doesn't help either. I weaned myself to 6 which is perfect but still have a tank of 12 for when I need it. I strangely started craving cigs out of nowhere when I switched but I always have to tweak which I don't enjoy....addictions stink!

I have always been a "super taster" - even when I was a heavy smoker (promises of "your sense of taste and smell will improve if you quit smoking" actually made me NOT want to quit smoking, because I already tasted and smelled more than I wanted to!)

As a result of my over-achieving sense of taste and smell, I have always been fond of foods with delicate flavors, although the occasional spicy food was welcomed. Hubby hates delicate flavors because he cannot taste them!

So it's no surprise that I prefer milder flavored ejuices - and have no desire for a throat hit. I just want a good flavor that doesn't overwhelm my senses. Maybe you're a "super taster" too? (I learned that term from a program on PBS - "super tasters" have as much as 3 times the number of taste buds as some people - they even showed how to test it using a piece of card stock, a hole punch, and some food coloring)

Yes even when I smoked I could taste stuff better than my wife who had quit smoking years ago. I can handle mildly spicy foods and enjoy them but the uber hot stuff NO WAY, just too much pain involved. I am also sensitive to bitter and Aspertame is purely horrible stuff.

Many of the juices I have tried are just VERY much too strong in flavor. The vanilla ones seem horrible to me.

IExcept for tobacco flavor I make all my own juices.

I do inhale when I vape btw if anyone is interested.

When I started to DIY the first thing I have done was to I dilute my store bought juices 4-8 times (1 part of juice for 3-7 parts of base solution).

EDIT: And yes, I do not need any throat hit.

These responses really surprised me. Interesting to read what people prefer. I smoked Marlboro Smooth for years, before making the switch. I've been Vapeing for years and TH is still at the top of my list. Everyone is diffrent, whatever works to keep you off analogs. I just can't imangine TH not being important, guess it's just me :?:

That is why I started the thread. If you watch the reviews and such it appears that everyone desires more throat hit. Not for me and apparently several others though.

When I first started vaping I used 70 PG and 24 mg nic juice and enjoyed a good throat hit. The longer I've been vaping the less I like it. I've gradually decreased my PG until I'm now at 70 or 80 VG mixes and 6mg nic. I don't want or need a throat hit, but I enjoy the bigger clouds much more.

I'm still not sure I understand throat hit. I understand the concept, don't need to have that explained to me, but perhaps I need to experience vape that clearly has it and one that clearly doesn't. Currently TH seems to me like something the person does via puffing, and not something the vape inherently has or doesn't. If that is mistaken, then I'm under the impression I've never had a vape that didn't have TH.
