I'm fairly new to vaping but I'm looking for a way to reduce throat hit and the heavy feeling in my lungs when I vape that makes me feel like I can't breathe.

My setup is a stainless steel nemesis, single coil build in kayfun lite plus clone, .75 ohms I believe and using spacejam andromeda.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm a hookah smoker first off and am seeking that cool non throat hit feel from vaping.

Hmmm...if you're blowing clouds like in your avitar then you're gonna have that feeling...period. Kayfun shouldn't be hitting like that though. I'd suggest dropping your nic possibly and play with your blends (100%VG makes for big clouds but it is heavy indeed, maybe try 70/30).

Throat hit often comes from coil placement. In a KFL type device the closer it is to the deck/airhole the more throat hit you're going to get. Try raising it a bit on your next build, you'll get less throat hit and more flavor but a little less vapor too. Great thing about building your own is that you can adjust the set up until you get it exactly the way you like it.

What's your liquids pg/vg ratio? Myself and some others get the heavy lung fealing from high% VG liquids. On the other hand higher pg tends to give a stronger throat hit, buts so does higher nic strength. Another thing to consider is you will get a stronger, more burning like throat hit if your atty is not properly fed with liquid, even more so when considering sub ohm vaping, and like big says, proper airflow plays a big role.

The suggestion would be dependent on the nic content of your juice. If you aren't using a high nic content then I would suggest a higher resistance build. Shoot for 1.5+ ohms resistance on your build and that will drastically decrease the wattage you are vaping at. Since the device is unregulated the only way you can get a cooler vape would be to make a higher resistance coil. Nic content actually has no effect on the temperature of your vape, but sub-ohming will drastically increase the temperature of your vape on an unregulated device. Factoring in voltage drop, you are probably vaping in the neighborhood of 15-20 watts right now. That is pretty high if you are looking for a vape with a lower temperature.

I doubt the gear nor coil resistance or voltage/watts have anything to do with the lung heaviness and throat hit. Start with the juice...

The most common cause of heavy feeling in the lungs/chest is a sensitivity to Vegetable Glycerin (VG). Throat hit can be high nicotine levels and/or Polypropylene Glycol (PG). There are also a number of "additives" juice mixers use that can influence these factors too.

From the original post it mentions Spacejam Andromeda. Hard to find much details on the VG/PG content but I found 1 reference claiming 50/50.

From that I'd guess the nic level may be contributing. I would suggest trying other juice with 30/70 VG/PG ratio and a lower nic level and see how your body reacts.

My liquid is 50/50 pg/vg 6mg nicotine. I have juisce on the way with less PG and am interested in trying the higher VG liquid. I think it's due to the lack of air flow after I did some research. After doing some research i read i can safely build to .2 ohms with my sony vtc5's is that correct? I have a TOBH atty as well that i plan on building on now. How would i go about getting sub ohm with it?
