Okay I have been reading along this thread and keep seeing post's about burnt cartomizer's. Typically with a bottom coil cartomizer the only thing touching the atty wire is the wick, so any burnt taste some might be experiencing can only be caused by three specific problems
1. the cartomizer isn't full
2. it is empty and your just tasting residue burning off the coil
3. it isn't wicking correctly
I have only had one minor problem with a cartomizer, and between myself and a few friends we have about fourty cartomizer's floating around with no issues at all.
So in an interest to find out what may be a problem I took one apart to show how it is constructed, and try to clear the air and give some of you a little better understanding on how these cartomizer's are designed. (there is no point at which the filler material touch's the coil)
Just a note this cartomizer has had 80 ml of juice ran through it( backwoods brew malty toffee) and there is some discoloration due to cutting it open with a dremel.
A note to all viewing the one carto I had trouble with was not wicking correctly , this problem was solved by flooding it with about an extra 1ml of juice and just letting it run out the bottom then I let it sit overnight ( i also pushed down the filler slightly) since then no problems at all.
