RDA anyone ever have this happen to their rda?

using the troll by wotofo, I've noticed that part of the top cap where the drip tip goes has a burned look to it like I took a lighter to the plastic for awhile

using .2 ohms on this one with 3 second pulls max

is this normal?

80 watts on a hot coil near a piece of plastic; not exactly surprising.

I'd be concerned about the gradual intake of toxic fumes you're been inhaling from burning plastic.

yeah it looks like it only burned that one spot about 1-2ml wide and hasn't done it again since, weird, thought delrin could handle that though and honestly im probably breathing in worse from being outside by car exhaust etc

Most rda's don't have plastic at the top like that; I consider it a con, especially if you're running low ohm.
I'd get an all metal rda.

That's another thing I avoid; paint or such coatings.

aesthetics aren't high on my priority list

Happened to me with a Plume Veil, they have some weird delrin thing that juts down near the coil, below the top of the top cap.

I was hella ...... to find I'd been charring plastic and inhaling it. I switched out the stock topcap with a Chuff style topcap (oddly, also some kind of Fasttech 'delrin') and haven't got the heat gnaw marks again. I did vow to never again buy an RDA that utilizes plastic.

hey I just cleaned my rda and coils, the top cap is actually metal, not plastic so not sure what happened with that burnt spot
