I read earlier on their site that the shipping date got pushed back 'til the 21st. Kind of bummed, since I noticed today that my EVODs are starting to leak around the windows. Which is my fault, haven't really been paying much attention to the juices I've been filling them with. I just hope that they last me another week. Nevertheless, I am still excited to get my hands on these AROs

just received an email from Mandy at Timeless letting me know that the AROs I ordered are on their way! Can't wait to FINALLY get my hands on these!

Me too. Woot, woot!

In the last few weeks I've decided that I just want to vape too many flavors that aren't plastic-friendly, and I don't want to worry about what is and isn't cool in an Evod...really excited to get my Aros in and, if they work, get a boatload more so I can have a few juices loaded up at once in an easily swappable, color codeable situation. Yes, I know swappable and codeable are not words...

A glass version of the eVod? Sign me up.

That's kind of what they look like, but these things are a complete mystery - no pics I can find anywhere on teh interwebs showing the thing taken apart to view the coil...so, with absolutely nothing to go on, common sense dictated that I should buy four. Hoping to have them to start test dummying by the weekend.

I bought after VaporJoes said they were 3.0ml:

http://.........blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2013-06-25T02:03:00-04:00 about 1/3 of the way down

That sounds like a lot of juice to me, but if they hold only half that I'll be happy, perhaps even happier because I can't imagine how ridiculously long a device that's only as fat as an Ego would be if it were to hold 3.0ml. Though it definitely looks like a one-piece deal, with a metal mouthpiece like a Protank.

There is another version of the "Aro," which looks like an Evod knockoff in plastic but with a detachable tip - not sure about those, maybe someone else can chime in...

EDIT: just checked my shipping notice, my Aros are in a sorting facility in IL as of a few minutes ago...still hoping to have them show up at my wife's office by Friday so I can test/post pics over the weekend.

Okay, they're in, so I'll make my first attempt at doing a review. Forgive me for not being all pro and stuff...since I figure these are primarily going to appeal to Evod users, and since it seems virtually every is familiar with them, and since that and Protanks have been my delivery devices of choice, you're going to see a lot of Kanger comparison here.

First off, the quality on these appears to be top notch, every bit as nice as a legit Kanger Evod. The transition between the chrome part and the color part is smooth, no scuffs or scratches visible anywhere out of the packing bag, including at the transition to the windows. The silver one looked like it would be all polished from the promo pictures, but it's actually just a chrome tip and a brushed steel look on the tank, again similar to an Evod. On to the windows - the recession from the metal wrap is much less pronounced, and the windows themselves are about twice as wide and 3-4 mm taller than on an Evod, so hopefully that's a bit of a help to people who say it's too hard to check their juice levels. The cone at the bottom that holds the head is knurled like an MT3, with three well-spaced, cleanly drilled holes.

The size is, obviously, going to be bigger, given the claimed 3.0 ml capacity versus 1.6 ml on an Evod (sorry, I don't own any MT3s to give a comparison). This guy is about 10 mm taller and 2 mm wider than an Evod, which means it's also going to be a bit wider than your typical Ego battery, if that's what you use. See below for side-by-side comparisons, along with one sitting on a non-vv 900 mah battery - the tank is a bit bigger than the battery.

Next up, the $1 million question - do they use Evod heads? Well, no - the ones they shipped with are similar to Protanks. Post height is the same, though these seem just a hair thicker, and there's maybe 1-1.5 extra rows of threads where the head screws into the base. I did try installing a Protank head into the Smok base, it went in fine. One thing I noted is that the very bottom o-ring seemed a bit loose on the threads and I had to make sure it was lined up properly so as not to crush it when re-installing the stock head.

I was also under the impression that these would ship with one spare head - I didn't receive any with my order, and either the site has changed or I was just completely mistaken on that. I'll confirm with the owner, but probably not a big deal since I've got a full box of Protank spares.

On the bottom is the Aro head, on top a used Protank head. Sorry for the low pic quality, all I have is the camera on my phone and I'm not even very good at using that...

Next up, capacity. When I bought this thing, capacity was advertised at 3.0 ml. I don't think that's the case, and the site I ordered from has changed to advertising capacity at 2.0 ml. I think that's likely more accurate. Not a big deal for me because I only vape 2-2.5 ml a day and switch flavors a few times, but if you've got one ADV and want a set-it-and-forget it delivery device this might be a bit on the small side.

Here's a brand-new 15 ml bottle that I just opened to fill the Aro - doesn't look like 3.0 ml missing to me, and I filled right up to the tip of the center post.

Finally, how does it vape? It's got a smooth, airy draw, if you complain about Protanks you'll probably complain about the Aro too. I've been told using an Evod head in a Protank is both safe leak-wise and tightens up the draw, and I've also heard of people modding their Evods by jamming toothpick tips in a carb hole or by just covering with a finger while hitting. I'm not one of the people that's incredibly bothered by the lighter draw, so I can't comment on any of this with experience.

Vape is very cool, which is to be expected with a BCC but even more pronounced in this one, probably due to the extra distance between the coil and mouthpiece. Again, not an issue for me, but I know some people want their vapor warm.

Overall, I'm liking it so far - a clean, cool looking device that's way cheaper than any other glassomizer I'm aware of at the moment, and it blows fat clouds. Vape on.

Thanks for the review, OBDAVE. Mine are still en-route, hopefully they get here tomorrow. When you had the ProTank head installed, did it make a connection with your MOD? The reason why I ask is because you mentioned that the head that the ARO came with had 1-1.5 more threading on it. I hope it did, because I just rebuilt a few EVOD/ProTank heads with Ekowool (under the assumption that the EVOD/ProTank heads were interchangeable with the ARO)

Ah, good question udanijo - I didn't actually check that or try to vape the Protank head in it yet, just wanted to give it a shot with OEM equipment. Looking at the picture I took before filling up both of the Aros, it looks like the head might in fact be maybe 1 mm longer at the bottom, so I'm now questioning my original assumption that they would work. One workaround (no idea if this would affect the way it works at all) might be using the whole base off an Evod or MT3...didn't check for thread compatibility, though.

I'll try experimenting with different Kanger parts in the next couple days and will report back. Hope you get your Aros in soon, I'm surprised they didn't get to Utah before California.
