Well my bro got their Cantaloupe...and well it's not good IMHO, but that's to be expected, it's the third DIY Cant. I've tried and none of them were any good, perfumy and off flavoring.

Now he also got the Blood Orange which is showing oil separation...is that typical/safe/tank cracker for this flavor?

I hope so because it smells fantastic!

Can't comment on Cantaloupe or Honeydew as I never liked the melons to begin with :).

The Blood Orange is a natural flavoring last I recall, so you'll most likely need to use more of it to get the flavor you're looking for. It wasn't bad when I tried it, but being a natural flavoring, I feel it needs more time to age than most flavors. I know there's no oil added to it, but as a natural flavoring, there may be slight trace amounts from the extraction (which would apply to any natural flavoring even after filtering).

Since all oranges are citrus, it most likely will fall into the tank cracker category. I've not had issues, but better safe than sorry.

What % would you recommend as a standalone flavor....and did you experience the separation as well?

I'd start with 15% on natural flavors as they're known to be a little weaker since they're not super-concentrated by a lab in most cases. If you feel that may be too much, go with 10% but I really wouldn't go lower unless you're going to mix it with another flavor.

I normally run 15-20% on the ones I've been working with, including the Blood Orange and it tastes pretty good to me. Not too strong so as to be overpowering, but not too weak where I can't taste anything.

I should have some more flavors coming in soon which I hope to have some more information on. In the mean time, as noted in a few posts above, if you've enjoyed some or even all of the flavors you've received (free or bought), you're encouraged to stop by their site and review them. It's free and takes just a few minutes.

Let them know what you like or don't like. Mike and the team take all criticism constructively (and I've been a little harsh on some) and they are working on making everything the best it can possibly be.

I should have my order Monday which will have about 20 or so flavors in there, so I'm looking forward to it!

25 Flavors in and first up, well I had to get my fix of Creamy Caramel because it's one of the flavors I fell in love with first. Now that I've had breakfast and I'm just starting my pot of coffee...

I wholeheartedly agree with JJ1977 and his comment on Dutch Apple Pie. I mixed at 12% because I like my flavors a little stronger and it's definitely one of the best I've had. It'll do very well at 10% no doubt and I'll probably drop mine down to that on the next batch (which will be more than 10ml). You can definitely taste the apple, but it's not overpowering. The cinnamon is there as expected and it's blended in a way that makes you think of apple pie (i.e. not too strong, but the presence is there).

You definitely get the pie crust - a mix between flaky pie crust and the bottom of the pie crust which has been saturated in the apple and cinnamon goo that fills a pie as the juices come out during baking.

Overall, it's a solid 9/10 for me. It could possibly use a tad bit more apple, just a tad, but it's pretty solid on it's own.

Tactical,
I've created an account on one on one's website but havent seen any reviews of anything on their site.
You seem like you may be their official spokesperson, so I'm wondering if they're still offering any free samples
so I might do some testing/trials before I cut a p.o. for further inventory?

Hey Tia - Not really official (I don't work for them), I just have quite a bit of experience with their products and speak with Mike as often as I can when it comes to working with the flavors. More so giving my input such as likes, dislikes etc.

That said, there's a slight chance the free samples are coming back, but right now, they're not being offered. I can't say for sure if they will come back or give an estimate as I know it was a limited time offer originally.

I've tried 80-90% of their flavors, so if you have any questions, just ask and I'll be more than happy to help as much as physically possible. I know that my input is going to be subjective, but I can give you an idea of what to expect based on my own usage.

Have you heard anything back from them since? Last Mike said, all samples had been mailed out. I know some of the samples were mailed in 2-3 day increments, others took a week or so to get to everyone once mailed.

If you've not gotten yours, I'll get in touch with mike. I can't remember if you PM'ed me your name, but if you didn't, let me at least know your first name, last initial and the e-mail you used.

I won't make excuses for them - they have been busy, but I've not had any issues getting samples, so I'd like to make sure everyone else experiences the same!

I know that he has been busy. I talked to him via email one night because my sample order would not go through on the website. I was the one that suggested he start offering sample packs on his site.

He took my order via email and that is likely why it was forgotten.

His prices are reasonable and I will place an order one day :)

I would get back in touch with him SG - I'm sure it's not on purpose and I'd like to hear that you got your samples (the same for everyone else as well). It may not be my business, but I did open the thread and get people talking, so I kinda of feel obligated to help as much as possible!

Not sure just yet, but I will ask Mike about the status in my next e-mail today.

I do know that they are working on 3 tobacco flavors right now and hopefully I'll be testing them soon enough. Unfortunately, at this point, I don't know any more information on what type of tobacco, but I know I am looking forward to getting more information on them as I've yet to find a tobacco flavor I like enough to experiment with.

There are a few other new flavors coming soon as well, so you can expect more and I know for sure 2 of them are PG based, not Triacetin. I will make sure I get as much info as I can and once clear to discuss, I'll make sure everyone else knows as well!

I'm sorry, but he is twice the price of different vendors..... I ordered some samples and they were good but so where my other flavors (same type comparison) I bought from flavor west and flavor west was half the price....just my 2 cents

sent from my phone via tapatalk 2 because I can't stop reading and posting on ECF

I agree they aren't the cheapest flavorings however, comparing pricing between two vendors for two different products is comparing apples to oranges. If they were reselling FlavorWest Flavorings at above FlavorWest's own retail pricing, I'd agree with you, but speaking with Mike, that's not the case. They've actually modified flavoring strength based on feedback I've submitted, which is something FlavorWest doesn't do that I know of (and may not be able to - not sure).

I don't work for them, I just enjoy the flavors and feel it's fair to do an accurate comparison.

Ello folks long time no type. I wake up today and find an email from 1o1 about their tobaccos. I liked their cereal pack and they sent me some xtra samples. How nice of them ! I havent had time 2 mix them all yet. I made a sizable order this morning. Trying out their new tobacco sample pack, blueberry, salted caramel, rainbow sherbert, dutch apple pie and double apple. Anyone try any of these yet or could give me mixing % suggestions if youve tried them. I expect to mix the baccos on the very light side. Looking forward to mixing again. Been too busy stressing out with work lately hubby has made a sizable dent in my steeped vapes I need to make more. :vapor:

Maybe we should make a quick post with suggested mixing % course tastes & pg/vg will make suggestions differ. It seems for the most part 1o1 are a little more concentrated than the average bear.
