if you search for e-cig forum and click on the link for the usa forum you get a fake "your computer has a virus" alert and directed to a page that pretends to scan computer.

does anyone who uses the usa forum know what's up with that ? The last date something was posted over there was nov 11.

speaking of forums, if we didnt have enough already, there is a new one now at hxxp://ecigforum.net

from their title, color scheme and njoy section, it looks to be assoc with ooh know who.

I can get to the front page and the forum, but if i hit a section link, i go to one of those generic pages you see as a place holder, when the site is not there.

I got a fake scanner the other day, but not sure if it was from there or not.
IF i made a guess, id say the server lost half the files, and no one has been to it to fix it yet.

cash you dastardly fiend !
seriously though, anyone ever in contact with one of the mods and can shoot them a mail to see if they haven't all been nicotine poisoned ?

Loads of forums seem to get hacked. Not sure why. Probably they don't install the security updates because they have so heavily modded them it's a pita to upgrade.

wonder if there is a connection to ooh know hoo's latest foray in marketing.

ps, cash batten down the hatches can you ? there's a lot of gold on this ere forum.

I am also not completely sure which of the opened windows caused it, but I was browsing e-cig links only yesterday and got three of these Avira events:

Virus or unwanted program 'JS/Agent.1366 [virus]'
detected in file 'C:\Documents and Settings\Frankie\Local Settings\Temp\opera\cache\opr059SM.
Action performed: Delete file

Might be from there. I was looking at that empty forum, too. I thought they were just starting and that was why no messages were there yet.

Whatever has happened it tries to infect your PC with the AntiVirus2009 malware, so take care. Probably been hacked. I saw this happen to another site recently.

yeah it got something on mine, but im not sure if its all good. there's a file in my virus vault that was put in my temp files called "virus found fakealert" content.ie5\jhr40kr8\freescan[1].htm

Hopefully your anti virus got it. Malwarebytes Anti Malware (MBAM) is pretty good for removing trojans and things like that if you want to be sure, and its free.

I use Firefox with the Noscript plugin which stops any malicious pages like that in their tracks, by blocking Javascript routines. But it can be a pain as you have to manually whitelist the sites you want to allow to run scripts.

i use avg and that got it i think. it put it in its vault anyway. i usually browse with no script but recently i've been using chrome for its speed and use Fx more as an application for work. I have so many add-ons, it runs slugish. the last up-date was poxy too. hope chrome allows no script soon enough. its the only way to browse safely it seems.

freE-smokers...i suppose thats why Yo hans been spending more time on this forum...

i wonder if yo han can give us the low down ?
2 e-cig forums in the same month..co-incidence or conspiracy ? scooby doo, where are you ?

When I try to access the link I have book marked I get one of these screens thet you get when a site is our of order.

The day before it went down a very aggressive supplier had their threads( not in suppliers threads) deleted and may have been banned. they could not post without advertizing his/her product, how wonderful it's and how bad others were.

Think they got hacked.
