Thats the plan and a big reason why i do not get caught in that endless money pit of acquiring new gear . I am not ready to stop at this point but i do not want to be dependent on nicotine for the rest of my life .

If i get to zero nic i'm done , i am definitely not someone who would vape if i didn't need nic.

No, I love aspect of vaping . I love the act of vaping the hand to mouth , I love certain flavors , it's very relaxing and I am one of those people that my brain is better with nicotine . Besides I have no other bad habits so if I was to quit vaping I would be dam near perfect and nobody likes a perfect person , right.

Yes, shortly after I am announced Dead on Arrival. Even then my wife has instructions to toss my ELA/Taifun, 4 batteries and 50ml of juice in with me in the coffin so if I am just sleeping and wake up, I'll have something to vape while i run out of oxygen.

It's nice to see a civilized discussion on this topic :). I don't know if I'll ever quit vaping, but I can imagine that I may one day. No plan to do so at this time though.

I got to zero nic after about nine months of vaping and did that for around half a year. By the end of that period I was vaping around three ml a day using rebuildables at around 25 watts, so I was not vaping much at all. By then I was also completely free of my cigarette addiction.

I didn't believe vaping nicotine to be addictive and went back to using it for a month, then went off it again for a month with no withdrawal issues at all. I appreciate the TH nic has, but I also appreciate the clean flavors that zero nic juice has. I do not become addicted to vaping nic. Cigarettes were a completely different matter ;)

These days I'm back to vaping 5 - 6 ml of juice a day and about one third of the time I vape 2.5 mg nic. 3 mg is too much for me now. I'm not addicted to vaping. It's a habit and a hobby that I enjoy. When I go out for the day and leave my gear at home I don't have cravings for a vape. When it does occur to me to vape, I look forward to having what I know will be a great vape after dinner that night at home.

I also look forward to having a chocolate chip cookie in the evenings or a few drinks once in a while. I miss them if I can't have them when I feel like it, but it's not a big deal and I don't consider myself addicted to them either.

I know there are health risks with vaping but so far the enjoyment I get from the activity is worth it to me. I'm also not oblivious to the issues. I know I'm inhaling small quantities of diacetyl that's in some of my flavorings and I know there could turn out to be issues from other things in vaping also. I've done the research and made my decisions. I also drive a car, go swimming and ride my pedal bike in a big city.

Works for me.

As a former smoker of 32+ years, I'm amazed that my body has 'requested' me to lower my nic level several times. Most recently, this past April I was mixing my home brew e-liquids and had a wild hair to try NO NIC for a change. I had been @6mg for over a year, so at the request of my body, I mixed '0 nic'. A wee bit of depression set in for a few weeks, but a couple of drags @ 6mg takes it away. Most of the time now, I cannot tell the difference between 0 or 6 mg.

I do enjoy my flavors more than ever, but there is no urgency...NO IMMEDIATE NEED to vape EVER, and I have gone for several days completely vape free. I didn't intend to do it...it just happened when I got busy: I'm ok with that! :)

I don't know if I'll ever quit vaping or not, and I'm not worried about it either way. Vaping SAVED ME FROM SMOKING and TOOK AWAY MY ADDICTION TO NICOTINE!

The guy above who says "vaping IS an addiction" is surely telling the truth...about himself. I thought it was true for me...until I learned it wasn't true any longer.

I'm not here as frequently as I used to be, but I'm with you in spirit. I love you (ECF and the folks who post), I miss you, and I KNOW you're gonna do GREAT!

If you're a newbie, it DOES get easier once you find the hardware that works for you, and the flavors you like and will use.

I can't believe that in less than 3 years, I've gone from a 2pk/day habit - ADDICTION - to occasionally vaping '0 nic'...and I'll NEVER smoke another analog, because I'm now empowered to breathe clean air instead. When 'air' isn't enough, my Blackberry Champagne vape fills in the blanks. :D

Sending all my prayerful love and support to anyone who needs it! It helped me, and I'm passing it on.

C'ya.

No.

Nor do I plan to stop drinking coffee, eating red meat, or consuming an occasional adult beverage. You see, like vaping, I enjoy these things. Might they entail a small risk of shorting my life? Indeed, that possibility exists, but that risk is nowhere comparable to smoking, which, after 36 years, was producing obviously deleterious effects on my health.

Yes, This^ tonight I ate a ribeye steak while drinking beer and then vaped my Panzer 26650 with a Quasar and Vanilla ice cream ejuice. Very good night :vapor:

How so? How many different juices are there out there? And the potential for more, as different and new flavors hit the market is immense. I don't see it's difficult at all to experiment with the art of vaping, much less to express something with it.
I actually meant in a rude and sarcastic (not ill willed though), pretending I thought you meant the act of vaping is art, as if all of us are artists for enjoying someone else's creation.

My first sentence was poorly worded though: I should have said: "Composing music or writing books/poems are mere crafts compared to the art of vaping."

We probably have opposite opinions of art vs crafts, but let's not get into that - we don't want a dog and cat situation now do we?

Anyway, I'm completely with you as to the comparison to using colours!

About expressing oneself through mixing flavours... Hmm, I guess the person who created Parliament was expressing depression and hatred for humans, as many artists do :D

Heh, well, I thought as much, just being snarky back. That and I think some people miss the art side of juice making because cigarettes, at least standard American ones, have no craft anymore. However, I do smoke a pipe and there you have all kinds of choices and the art of blending is very much in evidence. I do still really enjoy my Esoterica pipe tobaccos, although I had my last regular cigarette the other night since it was simply vile.

But I'm really looking forward to the art side of juice growing. That's where I think the future lies. Not in vaping as a nicotine delivery system, but as a hobby of its own. I constantly have music playing in the background. Now I have my mods there as well and really, really want to get started with DIY. Probably won't even put any nicotine in my own juice. I have one ego with WTA in it for that.

Besides, it's a LOT easier to defend vaping as freedom of expression than it is anything else. And that's actually my own standard for where I'll vape. If it's some time I'd put on music or be listening to it. Because to me, that's what it's become. Especially when I get through my backlog of meh juice.

Never have really thought much about art vs craft. To me they're very, very similar. But then I have very little taste for 'high art' of the kind that takes all kinds of edjumacation to enjoy. This may also be one reason I enjoy vaping as much as I do. It's really, really cheap compared to oh, say going to a fine restaurant.

I'd say do you plan on quitting any form of art? I'd say vaping is as much an art form as music or literature.

I'll leave this thread with this post. I've expressed my thoughts on the thread topic. This above comment of your is just ridiculous.

Tell that to all the musicians and writers. While your at it you might as well say Vaping is like painting the Mona Lisa.

Art form, My Posterior.

Just started vaping a week ago, and love it... cant stop coughing though... every inhale it seems.

When you first started smoking analogs I bet you had the same result, vaping is no different. I went through the same thing, and just took it slow for my lungs to get used to it. I'd say it was about 4-7 days then I was hitting it like Barry Bonds.

hehe, agreed, BUT amolson meant that the actual mixing of flavours is art, as you can read at the two previous pages :)

Maybe the art aspect is the reason why more people write palette than palate :D

Or it just may be that people can't spell. That's it, they're artists! Creative spelling. I'm an engineer. That's my excuse. For engineers, English is a second language. (if not a third or fourth)

But I always have an image of them walking around with this giant ratty wooden thing in their mouths.

I've never had any "plans" to stop vaping, and I can't imagine ever making any.

On the other hand, after vaping for almost 4 years I can see a time in the future that I simply don't vape any longer. I've lost my desire for new vaping toys along with the fact that I vape less and less often. Vaping today is a very small piece of my life compared to previous years.

I lost my addiction to nicotine over 3 years ago now, but I continued to enjoy vaping very much. Loosing one's addiction to nicotine doesn't guarantee that one will never return to smoking. We all know plenty of people that quit smoking cold turkey long enough to loose their addiction to nicotine that a year or two or three later returned to smoking again. As long as I continued to vape zero nic juice I knew there was no danger of my returning to smoking.
