I have other addictions I need to address first, like cutting my lawn (an acre) once a week in the summer, taking care of the veggie garden and fruit trees, keeping all the family vehicles in good repair. Those addictions can take a toll on your body more than vaping can..Besides I have a stash of 3 L. of nic. that won't go away by itself..:2cool:

I'm with Robino1. I never thought I would quit. Never, ever, ever. I had no hope of ever quitting.

Even when I did first start vaping, I was just hoping to get rid of the smell of cigarettes so it wouldn't interfere with getting and keeping a job. Sure, I would love to quit and get rid of that constant fear of dying from emphysema. I just didn't think I ever could.

So, I never had all these plans about what I would do since I didn't think I actually had a choice.

Now?

Well, the fear of vapocalypse has me so well stocked that there's certainly no financial reason to quit. And, my mother died from Alzheimer's, so not sure if I even should. I think I'll just play it by ear for now.

Either way, I'll always keep some supplies available to my dying day, just in case.

why did you try to quit if I may ask?

I had a really nasty case of bronchitis (which is still lingering, but not as bad). Vaping didn't cause it, but it did instigate the coughing since my airway was already irritated. I figured it might be a good time to quit, but I felt like I was being forced to and wasn't quite ready. I've been vaping for 1.5 years and I have no desire to smoke cigarettes ever again. I enjoy vaping, but I'd rather it not be a daily habit anymore. Maybe just something I do on occasion.

While we're talking about nicotine addiction, here's an interesting and confusing article at dannyv45's blog, saying we don't actually get nicotine at all neither from smoking, vaping or nicorette products (snus wasn't mentioned), so we're not physically addicted, just mentally:
Nicotine, What is it exactly? Part 2
Pretty convincing to me, but in light of this, I wonder how exactly we get more TH from higher nicotine levels...? Just an aroma?

I'm on my last 100ml of 6mg. I also have around 50ml of 0mg in the cupboard, which I vape occasionally. I've just ordered another 150ml of 0mg, not planning on getting more 6mg, but I may. And I'm also looking into getting one or two mech mods, another PTII and a couple of Kayfuns and some more coil wire.

Do I plan to stop vaping? No!

Nicotine probably doesn't survive the actual burning of tobacco, but what dannyv45 neglects is the hot smoke being pulled through the as-of-yet unburned portions of tobacco, forming and picking up nicotine vapor there and carrying it to the smoker.

What boggles my mind is all the people saying NO, NEVER, I'll never stop Vaping.

I'm no health nut but to be free of the action of sucking in some type of foreign substance to my mouth and lungs is very appealing to me.

Why would anyone want to continue to do that once they had freed themselves form a physical addiction to nicotine found in tobacco smoke and now e-liquid?

I simply don't understand that mentality.

Yep, I much prefer to suck in domestically produced substances.

Because I enjoy it!

Heck, I enjoyed smoking too. However I was no longer enjoying the side-effects of smoking, which thankfully aren't present with vaping.

Hummmm... From this: "Furthermore, if any nicotine vapor did form by burning tobacco, it would burst into flames before any residual moisture in the tobacco leaves is boiled away" I interpret it as the "as-of-yet unburned" thingy is impossible too, that this vapor is also cotinine (nicotine oxide), but I'm really confused and ... well, I don't know what to believe

For myself, I don't know how to do absolutely nothing. I vape more when I'm just sitting watching TV. I would rather vape than eat. The same way when I smoked. When you just sit there, what do you do with your hands?!?

I wonder if that is why smokers started? Maybe not started but kept the habit? I know it's calming for me and truly does help me to relax.

For the same reason anyone does something they enjoy, from crossword puzzles to web surfing to wine tasting. Just because you find needlework, for example, to not be enjoyable doesn't mean someone else doesn't.

And I don't understand someone who does nothing for enjoyment, so I guess we're even there. I would find a life with nothing but work, pills, distilled water and sleep to be incredibly dull. But if that's what floats your boat, as long as you don't try to force anyone else into that lifestyle, enjoy.
