Anyone prefer 18350s over "650s?

The State of Confusion
This is a personal question based on what you feel comfortable holding, and how often you want to change batteries, no more no less.

I personally know that being a big guy (tall and large) and vaping like a fiend, I like the bigger batteries, but most women prefer the smaller mods, thus smaller batteries.

If you are using a good VV mod, the only real difference is going to be comfort (the size) and longevity of the battery based on capacity.

For instance:

The Pursmoker Icon', I love them, tiny, fit in your pocket, are not heavy, but they take a 14500 (like a AA size) battery, so I use these if I am going out on the town all dressed up and do not want to carry my Provari w/ the 18650 end cap.

Likewise many women prefer smaller mods because they fit in their pocket or purse much easier and don't weigh a ton, even with a couple of extra batteries.....

Just debating whether I should go with the compact ones, or just go all out with the big sticks. I want compact/ portability/ lightweight, but battery life is a big plus too.

What do you guys use/ prefer?

In theory you are correct but people don't abuse flashlights like people tend to abuse mods taking them to their absolute extreme.

....
The different mAh has nothing to do with a battery exploding, it's how a battery reacts during load and discharge, and also during charging.
....

Extrapolate this idea to the extreme. Take a 10.000 mah battery and pair it to a 100 mah battery. To keep them at the same voltage even tho the smaller battery depletes faster, the bigger battery is constantly charging the smaller one... with no regards to safe charging methods. At the same time the bigger battery discharge faster than intended... feeding your coil and the smaller battery at the same time.

What about mods that don't shut down when the two stacked batteries fall below 6.4v total (3.2v each)?

I believe the Vamo, which is designed to recognize the two stacked 350's, will behave properly, assuming the circuitry is still functioning within spec. But what about other systems? There's a whole thread in the Not Advised forum dealing with a guy who insisted on trying to stack 350's in a Provari. Even though that device is not designed for stacked mode.

Honest question: Would a mod not designed or intended to use a stacked configuration cheerfully deplete the cells? Which mods might be capable of doing this?

I prefer the 18500 hands down. Its small and carries a MAH thats respectable. I do however own and use 350 & 650's. There's a time for each battery size. Going out I use 350's, work I use 650's. Any other time I use 500's. It also depends on the mod. I use a sigelei V3. Fantastic telescopic mod. I can actually use the large battery cap and a 500 in 350 mods (screwed all the way down). Thats the best and smallest VW setup ive found. Much smaller than the vamo and evic. Not sure if its been mentioned but the itaste mvp has insane battery life. 2-3 days. Its quite small too. In my jeans the 5th pocket carries 4 18350 or 3 18500 batteries. I just load them up before I leave the house and im good all day.

You're able to fit a battery case in that tiny pocket?
I sincerely hope for your safety and the safety of anyone in your immediate vicinity that you're transporting your batteries safely.

As far as which do I prefer- 350s.
I have 4 button tops for my ProVari and I'm home most of the time so swapping batteries is a non-factor.
Sure I can only wish they last as long as a 650 but that thought only occurs to me when I'm out and have to carry an extra battery with me.
Normally I'm not away from home for hours but even still I make sure the one in my device is fully charged and the extra I'm carrying is fully charged.
I have a mech that can use 650's but I rarely extend it to that size.

Just FYI, a mod can only detect the total voltage of the two batteries. If one battery is 4.2v and the other is 3.2v, it will still detect 7.4v and assume everything is fine. This is why multi-cell battery packs for RC use have balancing plugs so the charger can measure each cell individually and make sure they all end up at 4.2v instead of a pack total of say 25.2v for a 6 cell pack. If the cells were far apart in voltage at beginning of charge, one could end up charging one cell way past 4.2v.

So I should write that the Vamo, which is designed to recognize the two stacked 350's, will behave properly, assuming the circuitry is still functioning within spec and the two batteries have an identical charge.

I'd still like to know what mods (if any) don't differentiate between a single 650 or stacked 350's and will take the cells down to an unchargeable and possibly unsafe state.

Getting back to the OP, my preference is for smaller, palmable mods using 18350's when I'm outside my home. The little Madvapes Gripper and Mini Touchwood are small, effective tools. A spare 18350 battery takes up little space, and at 1.5 - 2 ohms, a pair of AW IMR's can last me most of a day. I enjoy a number of my 18650 mods, but mainly at home or in the car, as convenience rules for me.

And yes going back to the Original Post……

I have both and I wear scrubs at the hospital, i tried 650’s and I was dropping it like crazy every time I lean forward or it was bringing my pants down when I had it on my back pocket…. stealth vape? none, every one saw the big tube. Also I have 2 big dogs, they move everything so the mechanical PV was dropping hard so I stayed with 350’s i have my Ithaka, terminator and AGA T2 on my mechanicals so they are small I can work fine and tape on the run being stealth at the same time and I have 2 at all times and it last me fine for 12 hrs could last more maybe but I am using a full charge from the time I leave home thru during work coming back put a new battery vapor hard after lucy and during the ride home until going to bed with out a problem.
here at home I have 6 350 and rotate them from the first one (the battery that is been longer out of the charger after a complete charge) I have always 3 or 4 and always 1 or 2 charging.
