Anyone prefer 18350s over "650s?

I prefer 18350s in the vamo and I'm currently using 18490s in my private V2 clone. I want to pick up some 650s for the private though, because it can be awkward to hold in the shorter modes. However, I do like to run it in 350 mode sometimes, simply due to the "stealth" size. The private in 350 mode w/ an Igo-W + medium sized drip tip is a little shorter than the vamo in 350 mode with no atomizer, which is pretty cool.

Agreed!

I know that my PS Icon's are tiny with their 14500 and all, but if you want a pocket rocket that packs a punch it's hard to beat, especially if you're just wanting something light for a few while you are on the go....

Like you say...a few different mods for different purpose...

A Blue LED Provari for the days you want Blue

A Red LED Provari for the days you want Red

A Green LED Provari for the days you want Green

Everything else for other days....LOL

I am sure you cannot tell my allegiance to the ProVarianti....My Family !

After all family comes first!








I hate 18650s and the size and weight.

There are always trade offs though , which is why you need more than one mod, depending on what you are using for (errands, all day at work, long auto trip, working outside alll day, restaurant/wedding rig, etc.)

stacking isn't strictly a no no, but i wouldn't suggest it unless you really need the extra volts and are willing to keep a log of battery charging/position rotations. Without a log, or perfect memory, I don't see how you avoid making a rotation mistake. I've never gone over 12 watts so i don't need the extra volts.
Being obsessive-compulsive about odd things helps, trust me on that one.... wanna see my log and my catalog numbers? :D

As for pairing my 350's, I use a different color sharpie and clearly mark the pairs with identical marks and date they went "in service". I usually run 3 pairs at a time: (1) one pair in my mod, (2) one pair on the charger, and (3) 1 pair resting in prep for the mod. If you do stack (again not recommended), I suggest you only do so in a regulated mod that can specifically accept this set up in its' multiple battery options. That's 7.4(+) volts you'e pushing with stacked 3.7v's in a series, and it needs to be respected as such!

EDIT NOTE: I use the same three battery rotation when in single 350 mode: 1 in mod, 1 in charger, 1 resting.

Really it depends on the batteries and the mod.

I have used the 232' in my PS V3' stacked for years...No problems, but because of the mAh limitations and the superior performance of the 18450 imr' and the newer low resistance cartridges... 3.7 works very well indeed.

I pretty much run 350s exclusively. My rule is that, as long as it lasts a day I'm good. Now, when I start getting around 1-1.2 ohms I might pop in a 650 for the first few fires for the higher amp load.

I see people at local vape shops rocking 16000 mah(hyperbole) batteries in mods that are the size of a boombox, and, I have to wonder, can you really not make it to a charger but once a week? I mean, when I get home from work, my charger is right next to me on the desk in my office. This brings me to my next issue.... Innokin, would you please make an mvp or vtr that is more in the realm of 1000mah? I would love to buy one that was half the size :p

Help me understand why not. I may just be ignorant of the specific reason "you should never stack batteries." Back 4 years ago, LiPo RCR123A's were the only batteries that I knew of and I never had a problem stacking them in my Prodigy V3 with a 2.0 carto (18watts and yes I've done the math!). No, I DO NOT recommend LiPo's since battery chemistry and safety have been drastically improved. If the REGULATED mod is specifically designed to handle the 7.4v input, and has the inherent safety features of most VV/VW AVP's, and will functionally fit, where is the danger (aside from the normal dangers of all Li-ion batteries)? Doesn't "regulation" imply that the mod reduces or increases the voltage input to specified/desired output within the devices limitations? Yes, one does have to know what the rated input limitation is for their device and not exceed it, but stacked 350's in a REGULATED mod that is designed to accept them should not be an issue. Unless I'm missing something of course????????

Case in point: The REO VV Grand specifically states on the manufacture's web site that the device "runs on two 18350 batteries." That's the manufacture's statement, and I think REO just might know what they're doing, IMHO. Proof? Just follow the link:

That's crazy.... do they have neck lanyards for their car batteries? ;)

Thanks! But for the budget thing, (definitely on budget/ want to keep this cheap) the difference between a 350 and 650 is like $3-4 from what I see...

Each battery has x amount of recharges. With the '650 you will ultimately get more for your money in vaping time.

You are wrong my friend. Some are actually designed to take stacked, and it is perfectly safe IF you have the correct unit and IF you follow the manufacturers instructions on specifically which batteries to stack. I would never stack batteries in something NOT designed for it, or any battery with "fire" in the name.

I vape through 2 to 3 18650's per day, so there is NO WAY they last 17 hours! That will depend on what coil you are using and how much you vape. Even when I used a VV or VW tube PV I went though at least 2 '650's a day, so '350's weren't worth the trouble and expense. Now I only use them stacked in my REO VV as it was designed. My favorite is the REO Grand though, and it's size is much smaller than a tube. When you consider it holds a 6 ml bottle of juice right next to the '650, there isn't a tube that can compete for convenience. With the RM2 on it, it is comparatively very small versus having to take a similarly equipped tube, a backup, extra juice etc. with me everywhere.

I hope you find what works for you both in battery life (and thus expense of replacing them) and convenience. :vapor:

Stacking batteries is generally discouraged because while it can be safely done, the steps that must be taken to do it are extensive and the penalty for breaking the rules can be disastrous.

You have to make absolutely sure that both batteries are brand new and of the highest quality possible. Both must be from the same maker.

Both batteries must have identical nominal and nearly identical actual capacities. Just because they both have 700mAh on the label doesn't mean that they both have actual capacities of 700mAh. There are variations in the manufacturing process and the batteries could have significant differences between them, even if from the same manufacturer. That's why AW IMR's are so highly recommended. They perform as closely to spec as can be.

The batteries must be married and never be separated, until death do them part. They have to be labeled and can never be used without the other.

They have to go on the charger at the same time and come off at the same time. They have to be rested for an equal amount of time and have to be tested with a multimeter once they've rested.

They have to be rotated in position. Battery A goes in first one time. Battery B goes in first the next time.

You can stack'em if you want, but unless you're OCD enough to keep up with all of this, it's best to just stick an 18650 in there and let it ride.

Unless there is a dramatic breakthrough in battery chemistry, the 18350 cell will always come in somewhere south of 1,000mAh capacity. I'm even skeptical of some labels showing 900mAh. There's only so much chemical goo you can pack into a 18mm x 35mm cylinder.

I don't think it'll be the e-cig industry that drives any potential new development. A more likely industry will be automotive. The search for the ultimate capacity/ultimate safety electric vehicle is intense and a lot of money is being poured into the R&D.
