Well, while I did smoke for quite a number of years, I was well rid of the analogs before taking up vaping. While nicotine was no longer a requirement, I definitely missed the comfort, pleasure and tranquility associated with the act. I mean, no one starts smoking because they have an addiction they get addicted because they started, and continued to smoke. Obviously there is an attraction merely in the act. Been vaping for a couple years now and it is so much more pleasurable than smoking ever was. And I don't feel like a social pariah for vaping (even though there's still those that think I should - some people!). Anyone have a similar story?

Not here - I needed e-cigs to quit smoking and it was the only method that ever worked.

But the point is: At 0 mg it's working for you - you had a better choice and made a better choice than returning to smoking. We recently had a member rejoin us on ECF who had quit smoking and then quit vaping - for a solid two years. Poop happens and even after two years of being off vaping she was facing a potential full-blown smoking relapse. Instead she headed to the nearest vape shop, picked up some new gear and... isn't smoking.

You know how insidious the hold of years or decades of smoking can be. Even when you think you have been free of it after years... poop happens. I congratulate everyone who was able to make a better choice than relapsing.

I used 0 for months last year, although I also had and still keep a tank with 24 for an occassional puff;

now I'm probably up to about 6 (mixxed blend) mainly because it's costing me the same for 0 as for 24, so I figured on buying 100%PG at 24 then dilute it with vg; however this works out, I know I'm going to be staying on the 0-6 end of the scale.

And yes, for me too it was a quick drop to 0 nic when I started; after 30 years of pack-a-day+ smoking I guess the nicotine effect wasn't really there anyway.

I just recently started vaping, and I'm doing it without nicotine. I quit smoking in 2005, but I feel that vaping is inherently safe and the act of doing so incredibly satisfying! I also have been experiencing a "placebo effect" insomuch as I have a lowered appetite and have even lost 6 pounds!

I did not get into the no nic zone until I found "clouds", while I am not big on sub ohms, really as an electronic engineer in the US Navy I learned too much about electricity to be comfortable playing with it, I have found that big clouds can be achieved with out risk of explosion. That being said I find blowing giant clouds of vape to be just as satisfying if not more than nicotine itself. I still vape 6mg nic in my daily routine but I don't see that happening for much longer. That is amazing considering I started smoking at age 10, and smoking on a regular basis by age 15. I am now 30, finally made a complete switch to the e-cig last month, after a year of back and forth.

My story how I reached Zero Nic, is. . .I was concerned that I may be vaping too much Cinnamon Flavoring. Decided to leave it out of my next DIY batch. 24 hours or more later I discovered I'd also ACCIDENTLY left the NICOTINE out of that batch. Decided who needs it. Took me another two years to get rid of the "Hand to mouthy oral gratification" thing. Feb 6th was my 1 year "No Vaping" anniversary. I think others might be surprised to find out the Nic addiction is pretty much over after 3 days. The compulsion was the more difficult part for me. JMHO

Me too; my theory is that after 30 years of smoking my lungs are so messed up anyway that the nic hit where it hits your lungs, and zips up to your head in seconds via the bloodstream just isn't there anymore; so switching to 0 was actually easy for me; my lungs probably didn't use to absorb much nic anyway. Just the usual routine was important, and TASTE because more important;

For a younger smoker, the need for nic might be higher.

I smoked for 18 years. I didnt start at 0 mg but thats where I'm at now. I smoked both e cigs at work and anologs everywhere else for a year b4 i finally figured out that smoking sucks. then after 2 weeks of just vaping i ended up not using nic in my batch and frankly you tend to lose the addiction to nicotine and gain an addiction to a flavor hobby. Like bartending you become a mixologist and a mad scientist. mwhahahaha! but yeas i love my flavors. noticed that when i taste my freinds flavors that if there is even a lil nic in it has a smal amount of harsh TH in it. Plus you can taste the liquid W/O vaping to get an idea. nic has a lil burn to it.

I started with the patch then got my vaping starter kit and some no nic juice and also 18 nic.I kept the patch on for a week or so and vaped with the 0 juice and it seemed to work ok.A few days later I took off the patch and put some 18mg into the 0mg and just vaped from then on.I found the 18mg tobacco flav was a bit ha
rsh on the throat so mixing with a mint flav did the trick for me .
