I usually set up my trident clone with dual 30g kanthal 6 wrap 2mm folded silica. Comes out to 0.5-0.6 ohms, plumes of vapor. I make sure the coils are the same height of the air holes and make sure nothing is blocking. You should get a clear view of the coils through the air holes. There might be a problem with the airflow if it lacking vapor. Try setting it up with less wick. There really isn't much space to play around with. One last thing to check is to make sure that the top cap is not touching the coil wire when put on. That might be causing a short. Even with 0.5 ohms, it takes several pulls before it gets hot for me.

Just got my non-plated clones in today, and I must say they are very impressive. Even with the stock coils in there, though they tasted a little funky. It just runs well.

I am having a hard time building my trident clone. I've used .30 gage and .26 gage kenthal wires and i am not getting half the vape then what i am getting from my IGO-W. Anyone else experiencing this? I tried 3 to 4 wraps with dual coils but same result except with .26 gage burns a lot hotter with same amount of vape. Ohm test gives me about .2 to .6 ohm depending on what wire i use. I don't like using my rda on .2 ohm since it gets too hot to vape after few puffs. also kills my battery too fast. my IGO-W runs on .5 ohm and it gives me massive massive vape, i don't know what i am doing wrong with my trident clone. Anyone have any suggestion on this build? like what wires and how many wraps etc.. Oh and i am using Nemesis clone and Chi-you clone. thanks in advance!

You are doing the wicking exactly the same way? How about the airflow, which holes are you using?

How are you getting .5 to .6 ohms with 6 wraps? i am getting .8 with 5 wraps on 30g kethal..hmm maybe i am using too much wick.. I always though more wick would be better since it can hold more juice. I do have both holes opened for better air flow, but with 30g kenthal it never works out. I did manage to set it up with good amount of vape with 5 coils of 26G, but i can't close the top cap all the way or it touches the wires and causes a short.

I just received a Nimbus V3 clone and it's my first dripper. Getting great flavor with it. Have yet to really find my sweetspot with dual coils so I'm running a single nano coil in it and the vapor production and throat hit are solid already. I'd recommend it, especially for the 16 dollars shipped I paid for it from an American vendor.

FastTech is great and all, prices are definitely unbeatable, but the shipping is getting slower and slower so I've found a few American vendors that sell the knockoffs for just a few dollars more. I find the trade off is worth it so far, since I'm pretty impatient and 4 days is all I can stand to wait.

So I ended up getting an actual trident off my buddy. Love it, don't like it how it sits high on my provari though. Posts are a trip for mounting coils at first lol.

Just get a beauty ring :D

I like it sits almost flush with the taper, that's why I figured I could just drill some nickels

I thought about getting a hippo before but it's too tall and too expensive. The ring I'm using came from instaste and it's only $6.70 before shipping. I bought a KFL at the same time so I consider the shipping for the ring free lol. Anyway, I have the trident on a private v2 clone now.

I'm about to order the Trident clone from FT and have a question. Has anyone heard about having a hard time getting it to fit on a Vamo or a Nemesis? On FT, someone said that it ruined their Vamo when putting it on. I would think that someone would really have to put some muscle into screwing it on wrong to kill the Vamo.

You have to be careful with china RDA threads. Some of them are just downright horrible, and will ruin the soft brass VAMO 510 threads if you try to force it. If there seems to be some resistance or it's not screwing on smoothly or straight, don't force the issue. The VAMO's connector is just about the cheapest thing on the device, the metal is so soft you might not even realize your ripping it from a bad screw-down.

I was worried about the same thing when I started this thread. Since then I got an authentic trident, and an authentic nemesis. My trident fit on my provari and a buddies chi clone with no issues but for some reason will not screw into my nemesis. Someone mentioned to me that it's most likely a burr in the threads. Things happen. But to be safe, I'd stick to Authentics when it comes to attys.
