My hubby has COPD. He uses nebulizers often. In order to do that he's got a small compressor thingy ma bob that runs the breathing thingy ma bob. it's not really strong compression but it does blow the air quite well. Anyways, he gave me a used tube from an older unit ( the clear tube that goes from the compressor to the bulb that holds the medicine, same as an oxygen tube) and it fits just right over the carto. I been blowing out my carts for a long time with it. It works WONDERFUL !!!!! There's NO water left in them afterwards and I've refilled and vaped them with no troubles at all. Have been doing this method after cleaning them for about 5 months now.

(actually, if anyone wants one of those neb compressors, just go to a nebulizer website and you can buy them for like 50 bucks or less some without a script, some ya need a script)

I use an automotive air compressor for it. It works great, but occasionally breaks a coil. I figure when that happens its a weak one anyway. Since they're made to be disposable, no great loss.
But it still leaves a smell in the more potent juices like cinnamon.

That's what i've got. Glad it works well enough. And i can handle a few broken ones if it happens. Got quite a large supply of them hehe.
I'll give that a shot today then. As i don't like leaving them to air dry for days. Provides a nice breeding ground for bacteria

I've got a 5hp, 30 gal. tank air compressor and it works great and same as above sometimes will blow out one but still worth it,saves a lot of time. One more thing I use my car electric buffer and put my carts on it (I put a clamp over them ) and I'll spin the heck out of them

I like the buffer idea a lot, when I start refilling I may have to get a sanding disc for my cordless drill and figure out some way to attach a bunch or carts around the edges of it. I'd love it if I could turn the drill on and let it sit on the counter for a while spinning away.

That's funny, someone else started the same thread/question in the Tips/Tricks section today too.

I do use my compressor, I love it.
I used to clean them, then blow them out for about 15 seconds and let them dry overnight.

This morning, I decided to see if I could speed up the process, so I held the air-chuck right up against the bottom of the carto, and just let it blow for about a solid minute until I saw absolutely nothing whatsoever come out anymore.

I watched it blow out water, then moisture pellets, then water vapor, then nothing.
I went straight to filling it and it was dry as a BONE.

That's excellent, I can now clean, dry, and re-use a carto in like 5 minutes start to finish.

Awesome. :banana::banana::banana:

That will probably work to get you 80% of the way, airbrush compressors are much smaller than standard compressors, it might not get you bone dry, but will still make a huge difference in dry-time, it should get it 80-90% dry, it doesn't take long, let it blow until you don't see anything more coming out of the mouth-end.

I guess in your case smaller compressor = longer blowout, but seriously, we're blowing out tiny little cartos, maybe it won't make much of a difference at all.

PS, Hi Kay! :headbang:

How about a can of compressed air like the kind used to clean keyboards? I've never tried it, but your post made me think of it. Anyone ever tried that?
i would advise against that method. most "canned air" for cleaning keyboards contain acetone (hence the wicked cold of the can after spraying ... for the more intense feeling hold the can upside down and spray, you'll see what i mean lol)

I do it the old-fashioned way: tell my hubby to do it for me! LOL He just does my cartos in a batch when enough are built up. (He has never smoked.) However, I have watched the process. He soaks them in 190 proof ethyl alcohol, blows them out using a hand nozzle on his big air compressor (it has some sort of safety thing on it), fills again with ethyl alcohol, blows it out again using the compressor and then dries in an oven at 170 for an hour. Yeah, he kills about 1/3rd of cartos that way, but those that make it through the process are super clean!

I've got asthma, and have 2 or 3 of these babies laying around. We've had good luck finding them at garage sales and thrift stores for around $10-20 each :)
